So wird dein Handy zum WLAN-Hotspot

Using your mobile as a WLAN hotspot

When you use your mobile as a WLAN hotspot, you can surf the Internet easily and securely on your laptop, tablet or other devices wherever you are.

Send e-mails from the train, stream films when you’re out and about or check out restaurants: it’s all simple and straightforward with a mobile hotspot. Set up an Internet connection for other devices on your smartphone and then surf simply and securely wherever you are.

Set up a personal hotspot

On-train WiFi (SBB FreeSurf) is often slow. If you turn your mobile phone into a hotspot instead and share your mobile Internet connection with a device, you will surf faster and more securely.

> Go to mobile phone instructions

Check your data volume

Does your subscription include unlimited surfing data? If so, then you’re good to go. If you pay by data volume, then keep your data use in check and don’t download or stream large files with the connected device.

Beware of power guzzlers

Ensure that your mobile battery has plenty of charge. Connecting to the WLAN and mobile network uses a lot of power. If your mobile is connected to the device via USB, then this will also charge your mobile battery.

Alternatively: Multi Device

With Multi Device, you can use your mobile subscription on additional devices. If your laptop or tablet has a SIM-card slot or supports eSIM, then you won’t need to set up a hotspot at all.

WLAN and “securely” do not necessarily have to be put in the same sentence:

Hello @Stauhiegio29

  • This is a customer helps customer forum and not Swisscom
  • This actually only explains how you can create a portable internet connection outside of the house/apartment
  • It is unnecessary, especially if you are OLDER, to use such fecal language

P.S. There are also a lot of older people, like me for example, who are tech-savvy despite their age

Sorry, had to be

Edit: Since @Stauhiegio29’s first comment was deleted, I could do this too, but I’ll leave it alone

This works very well with the hotspot if you e.g. has an iPad without SIM cards.

I was also able to make this function available to other people for their notebooks at short notice.

We have been using the hotspot function in our motorhome when traveling for a long time. We now have the Multi Device SIM card in a WLAN router, so we can always access the Internet abroad without enabling the function on our cell phone. A very good thing.

Merci

@Jeittigrei37

We, the old generation, made the basic development and the young generation developed it further and that’s a good thing.

If things are becoming more and more automated today, e.g. The payment system largely has to do with cost savings.

N.B. I myself also worked with tube technology and then semiconductor technology with top transistors etc. but I am always happy to keep up with the latest technology for the most part.

@Wiofreurog42

>… I can’t find the model of the Samsung SM-G 390 F…

should this model correspond to the Samsung XCover 4 or XCover 4s?

they do not appear to be available on the Swisscom shop, currently only the XCover 5 model is available

[Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 – Smartphones | Swisscom](https://www.swisscom.ch/it/private-customers/products/smartphones/details.html/samsung-galaxy-xcover5-11050075?contractDuration=24&stch=pdp&ing=ptl-device-first&simplyDigital=true&journey=device -first)

What would be the desired function or the actual problem?

Thank you for the reminder information because this article is always useful to me, if I am traveling or on vacation when there is no intérêt terminal.
