That depends on which subscription you have:

inOne home incl. blue TV subscription

You can use up to 5 TV boxes per household. Any combination of TV boxes (Swisscom Box, UHD and HD) are possible. You can also use Swisscom blue TV as an app on other devices (e.g. television, smartphone) - the entire offer is also available on the app.

blue TV Air

If you have chosen blue TV Air as a paid subscription for on the go, you can watch TV on two devices at the same time - the offer is also fully available here. With the free version “blue TV Air free” it can only be used with one device. Users of blue TV Air free also see advertising clips before a program plays. This is necessary in order to be able to offer a cost-covering free product. As a inOne home customer or with the paid TV Air subscription, you will not see any advertising clips.

Subscription to third-party providers 

If you have a TV subscription from a third-party provider, you can use the blue TV app on your TV-Box. This gives you the opportunity to access blue+ (formerly Teleclub) content with a single device.

Unfortunately, without the Apple TV app, the new OTT offering is pretty worthless for me. I also don’t own a Korean disposable TV, but a quality model from Panasonic. I don’t know why Swisscom doesn’t want to serve Apple TV customers. I hope the app will come soon.

What about the streaming quality (bit rate, resolution, etc.) of blue TV Air/blue TV Air free vs. today’s SwisscomTV?

I’m particularly interested in the use case of not having a SwisscomTV box (app only).

    With blue tv air free only SD is offered and the data rate is specified as a maximum of 2mbps.

    Blue TV Air 10 CHF offers SD, HD or UHD depending on the channel.

    The internet connection should have at least 10mbps.

    Adaptive streaming is used. The quality has not yet reached the level of the STB, but it seems relatively good to me now.

    I have peaks of around 18mbps. But the average measured under one~ is around 7mbps 🙂

    Only Dolby 2.0 is transmitted as sound! And it can only do legacy IP…

        As an existing customer, you can initially take over the Teleclub packages.
        Then it just becomes blue Movie and blue Family in this case.

        However, the channels mentioned are no longer included in the new blue max and blue doku packages.

        As a layman, I would say that these stations haven’t made it into the lineup for the time being.

          Will all other channels that are no longer included be distributed to new packages?

          Romance TV, Heimatkanal and Goldstar TV are marketed by many providers as a “television with heart” package.

          I can’t imagine that the channels that have been dropped from Blue+ (Teleclub) will simply be deleted from the Blue TV offering.

            As I understand it, Swisscom only offers the channels from the MySport package. So:

            This will be a paid package. The channels will then be present in the channel list as normal, i.e. without the app. UPC does not yet have an actual OTT offer.

            At UPC, blue is offered as an app. You will either need the new UPC box or a newer TV, smartphone or tablet.

              Of course I’m making a fuss about it. The amount of data is stated here in MB. Therefore the average stream is around 7mbps!
