Appearance/TV Guide

  • Hello, with the new update the background of the TV guide and the entire appearance were designed in black or dark.

Please offer the whole thing in white again or at least create the opportunity to change it.

My in-laws and many other people, mostly older people, have trouble with readability.

It cannot be the case that you change such elementary things without any notice and without taking older semesters into account and simply leave them to your own devices.

At least you could point this out instead of wasting your time searching for it on the Internet and waiting on hold at your hotline.

People are used to reading texts and information in white, it’s called black and white and not the other way around, I certainly don’t know of any newspaper where it’s the other way around.

I also miss the color “white” in the appearance, please change it again or leave it selectable, “black” is really tedious! I want the color “white” again. Do you already know more about this? Will it be changed or adjusted? Thanks.

Well, unfortunately that’s not the case for us! The new UI has become more confusing. When could you have a say? Who is the majority? I don’t remember being asked!

The list of actors is also gone, the guide keeps jumping back to the current time!

There’s still a lot of development potential! In short: In my opinion, the change is a deterioration! Also harder to read!

I would be happy again with a white background instead of black. I’m under 60. It bothers me too because my eyesight is bad. I wear glasses. With a white background it is better for the eyes. The brighter the better! The ophthalmologists say that too. Thanks for restoring ;-)

I support the statements of many here. the new menu in black is a deterioration! Just because all operating systems (OSX, Windows, iOS, Android etc.) now promote dark mode does not mean that you have to/should follow this trend. or then, as luc666ifer writes, offers at least one option for changing the appearance.

in this sense…+1 for the introduction of a switching option!!!

ps: because of the “white” menu I became a Swisscom TV customer in the first place. I could have stayed with upc straight away!

    Contemporary???

The monochrome design of the 80s of the last century!

Sorry, but my eyes get tired much quicker and it looks like shit! Please re-implement the much more pleasant and readable black on white design at least as an option.

no more white menu…!? So I called the swisscom hotline yesterday and asked about switching between dark modes/light mode. This was no longer possible, the friendly customer service had to admit. Now the best part…even the customer service person himself doesn’t think the new menu and appearance in black is a success!

At least one option to choose dark/light mode should be offered in the future (as was the case with EOS3.2)! Technically it is always possible. thanks in advance @Swisscom!

Hello EmK, that’s a very good guy, I’ve already done that and it’s actually a big help for me. But since there are no operating instructions or I couldn’t find them, I wouldn’t have come across this menu item.

    Super…………

As is often the case when collecting opinions, you will mostly only read about the negative cases that come forward in the forum. Those who are satisfied have no reason to express themselves here. It’s like that with every two-part topic, isn’t it?

I like the new interface,…much tidier and, above all, better managed. Because now I don’t see 14 tiles at once and I can get detailed information about the film using the OK button without unnecessary clicking on the tiles. I also didn’t like the bright lighting up of the television and therefore the living room late in the evening when you opened the home screen. But that again is a matter of personal opinion.

You can change or enlarge the typeface in the settings. The television should also be adjusted to the new basic tone of “dark” using all of its own “image enhancers”.

Just shouting that something has changed doesn’t help much. To get the best results, you have to pick up the television remote control yourself and be a little active.

I think it’s an omission that Swisscom didn’t give any advance warning. But the expectations of what an IT provider should or should not do probably differ here too.

I deactivated the dynamic contrast on the Samsung and turned off the blur functions. My tip as the first source of errors with an unreadable interface.

@Niofliebiop58 do you have the feeling that Swisscom has now added this function because of your penultimate post?!

Sometimes this ignorance from forum members is really annoying!

You can see that several other people are already upset about this, right?

Then just wait and see. As long as the Corona crisis is there, you cannot demand such an enormous change.

And just for your information: people are treated with respect here. That’s why you can have words like SCH… in your head but please don’t write them!
