Internet Backup sur Smart Business Connect

Hello,

Can anyone give me details on Internet Backup (provided with my SME subscription) which is included in the SME services?

I currently have a personal router (yes I know) and I use it with a ppp account provided by Swisscom with my SmartBusinnesConnect subscription. Everything works perfectly, my public IPs and my IPv6 range. I use this with quite a few different devices and if the line drops (it doesn’t happen often) I lose a lot of things including VPNs.

I am told that the 4G backup allows me to keep connectivity, and also my public IPs. Is this true? If so, how can I have a configuration that works with 4G? (ppp multilink?) If anyone has experience I’m interested.

Greetings
Jimmy

Hello Jim,

Swisscom offers SMEs the opportunity to create an emergency Internet backup.

There are two different “classes”:

“Lite version”:
Up to 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload via fail-safe Internet backup. The 4G key is simply plugged into the router.

“Internet Backup Premium”:
Same speed but easy installation with window mount tool kit with Ethernet connection to router.
So the cell phone reception of the device is better than with the normal stick.

The Lite version is available in the inOne SMB office (Service M or L) and in Smart Business Connect (Internet M and L).

The premium version costs 99 francs once and requires Smart Business Connect (Internet M and L).

Thank you @DomiP for your feedback

Unfortunately I’m not looking for a product description, I want to know how it is technically configured on a router, and particularly on a Cisco with IOS.

I already know that I am entitled to the “lite” version (my subscription is a Smart Business Connect), I have simply never activated it because it works “plug and play” only with the Centro Business, a router that I do not don’t use.

And if I don’t have technical proof that my public IPs work with the 4G connection, then this backup solution is of no use to me.

If anyone has already set up a swisscom 4G backup connection on a Cisco router, that will help me understand whether or not it works.

Cordialement

Jimmy

Hello Jim,
I’m a bit off base here, as I don’t really use commercial solutions personally.
However, if you don’t get any other answers here, I can recommend you to register on [https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/business/pme/internet-reseaufixe-television/internet/services-supplementaires/basculement-informatique-internet-backup.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/ fr/business/pme/internet-reseaufixe-television/internet/services-supplementaires/basculement-informatique-internet-backup.html) so that the experts are called back. As a professional customer, this is of course free.
