In the 20-minute advertisement, a mysterious grey box with a few LEDs left readers puzzled. The subtitle “Coming soon” made the whole thing no less exciting. The secret was revealed at today’s media conference. The new Swisscom Box is here!
TV, streaming, music and smart home in one
The Swisscom Box brings completely new possibilities: it combines the content from streaming and classic television on one screen, brings comfort functions such as skipping advertising blocks when recording your own, and enables the control of blueTV functions with an integrated voice assistant.
The Swisscom Box is thus a set-top box, voice assistant and streaming player in one. Speech recognition is still in its infancy. He is currently pushing the school bench intensively and is currently learning to understand all dialects.
The new Swisscom Box will be available from 17 November for 129 Swiss francs, new customers with TV M or TV L subscriptions will receive it free of charge. Customers with a UHD-enabled blue TV box automatically benefit from the advantages of the new Entertainment OS 4 thanks to an update at the beginning of 2020.
