Now a question about the new IB3. I have an overhead line and have INTERNET M. With the IB2 I always had the following values in the diagnostics menu:

Upstream 57000 kbit/s

Downstream 226000 kbit/s

Noise distance 18 db

Downstream 18 db

Now the information about IB3:

Synchronization speedUpstream102443 kbit/sDownstream401240 kbit/sSignal-to-noise ratioUpstream6.2 dBDownstream6.1 dBLast synchronization0 days 0 hours 12 minDSLAM chipset type (network equipment)BroadcomVectoringActivatedDSL Datapump VersionA2pvfbK046j.d27f

So is the IB3 more tolerant of overhead lines or have you done something as a tester of the IB3?

@Dani CH

I assume a new calibration process has been started.

The signal/noise ratios of approx. 6 dB are the default values for a g.Fast-Anschluss.

Depending on the new line errors that occur, the system will probably automatically reduce this step by step until the minimum stability values are maintained again.

You will probably only be able to judge after some time whether there will ultimately be anything left compared to the IB2 when the line has been stabilized again.

I just switched from an IB2 to the IB3.

When I made the switch, I was mainly curious as to which part of the IB2 configuration would be adopted automatically.

The following were automatically adopted:

- The complete telephony: Internal SIP credentials plus additional DECT telephones without new registrations

- All passwords (Internet box, WLAN)

- DynDNS definition from Swisscom

The following were not adopted:

- manual DNS server settings

- Swisscom VPN server

- Device names

- Port forwardings

- additional DynDNS definition from the Swisscom list of external partners

The following were changed unintentionally:

- Upnp setting turned on again

- Access Home App switched on again

- Access central storage switched on again

- Swisscom VPN server switched off

A restore of the previously saved IB2 config brought all the settings back to the IB3 via the IB3 administration menu.

However, since changing a box is not an intentional reset, I think it would be much better if the entire existing configuration of the Internet box to be replaced were transferred to the IB3 as completely as possible.

The IB3 itself makes a very good first impression to me.

The start went smoothly with a few small interventions (mainly the necessary restore of the config) and I find the reduced space requirement and the new arrangement of the switches and connections very positive.

Of course, I wanted to check the new WiFi 6 immediately with the Home App on an iOS device.

Apparently the Home App doesn’t really fit the IB3 yet. Although it is running, it claims that it is not in the Internet box’s network and therefore refuses the WLAN test.

Hello everyone

IB3 set up is working so far.

I’m still struggling with the following point: I can’t log in with Home App (Android). Always gets wrong password. Does anyone else have this problem?

Since I have the Internet Box lying down at the moment, this is displayed in red when logging on the home network. Is it possible to confirm the message?

The IB3 should not be placed for thermal reasons.

My Internetbox 3 is now running too.

Unfortunately my phone book is empty.

The config file that I previously created and re-imported also doesn’t bring any improvement.

I hope I don’t have to type in all the numbers manually again.

Just noticed:

When the speakers were changed, the automatic backup of the phone book to Kundencenter also failed.

Unless my box is an isolated case, I still consider this to be a critical error.

Restart the devices away from the network and back on

Some will then be recognized.

App

go to new setup

then it goes

please

Thank you for the tip!
First deleting Home App on the iOS devices and then reinstalling it and logging in to the Internet box actually helped.

Speaking of the phone book: (I also had the loss when switching between IB2 / IB3, and with certain firmware test builds) You just have to accept that as a beta tester

There is a workaround if you have Gigaset HD phones:

1. Reinstall IB2, the phone book should be there again

2. Copy the phone book on the Gigaset handpiece into the handpiece’s internal contact book

3. Reinstall IB3

4. On the Gigaset handset, copy the internal phone book back into that of the base (=Internet box)

….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Cancel incorrect password

set up a new one and it works

Phonebook takes some time before it is downloaded.

the sync process just takes time

Name resolution still the same problem as before, I don’t understand.

The admin password is now required for the USB stick or hard disk

Hello folks. You should send everything you write here about the IB3 to the email address you received when you confirmed it. This is the only way to solve problems that occur with the IB3.

But it’s interesting to read that some of you have IB3 running smoothly and others don’t. But that’s why we are the test users.

By the way, the design fits well next to a classic stereo system:05598793-E6A8-425C-9B6E-68F565232F68.jpeg

Unfortunately, what I haven’t found yet is the dark mode switch for the case…

Addendum: Why the forum now presents photos “overhead” is still a mystery to me @ThomasS

Did you keep the backup of the telephone directory in Kundencenter active?

All I can say is that I gave the box time to install. When I tested everything, the telephone directory was already there everywhere.

It has also adopted all device names. With WPS I wouldn’t have to reconnect anything. Everything was recognized immediately, including: the various devices via WiFi connection (WLAN box, 4x SCTV 2.0, Philips Hue and the Sonos system).

What’s interesting to me is that the post isn’t always as fast everywhere in Switzerland. After I was informed by email that the package would be delivered today, Monday, I received a new email shortly before delivery time. Delivery tomorrow Tuesday. Well, we’ll see…

      Show original language (German)

My IB3 was also delivered today and installed straight away. Everything worked without any problems. Contacts were imported automatically, but at least one contact that I had entered a week ago was missing. Ev. The synchronization failed earlier with the IB2 because the phone book synchronization was still switched off even after loading the IB2 config.

So far the IB3 makes a great impression, the internet connection parameters are practically the same as the IB2. The WiFi is 2-3dB better thanks to the band, without WiFi 6 devices.

Did anyone get an IB3 that only came with the fiber optic cable? Was the toilet cable also included?

Could be quite or logical if “with fiber optic connection without telephony” was ordered…

Yes, I noticed… every day I hope that fiber optics will come, but for me it’s only enough for g.almost 😀 Seriously, everything is fine, my mistake when ordering. The purple cable was there from the IB2…
