Which IR dongle for Swisscom TV 2.0? Buying recommendations?

  • Good evening dear community

I bought a Logitech Harmony One yesterday.

But now I don’t have an IR dongle for the SWCTV 2.0

Could you give me a purchase recommendation?

    Until then, thank you πŸ™‚

Hello, so this fits the UHD box:

      [https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/produkte/zubehoer/swisscom-tv-und-internet/uhd-zubehoer-kit(,000000000010240233).html] (https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/produkte/zubehoer/swisscom-tv-und-internet/uhd-zubehoer-kit(,000000000010240233).html)

With our UHD box and the Neeo (previously Logitech Harmony Touch) we still use the USB receiver from the old TV-Box, but it’s only available in the bay:

      @FlySmurf

      Thanks for the info πŸ˜‰

I was just on the accessories website, but could only find the IR receiver for the UHD box.

Do you have any other suggestions for solutions?

      Until then, thank you πŸ™‚

Thank you for this information πŸ˜‰

Where can I order or buy this β€œold” IR receiver?

I think it’s a joke that Swisscom no longer offers this.

Can I perhaps find an alternative in Digitec that is suitable for the β€œolder Swisscom TV Box”?

      Until then, thank you πŸ™‚

      Hello @blockbuster98

If you already have such a great new RC, then I would just buy the UHD TV-Box von Swisscom.

Because this brings with it some advantages that you will never get again with the HD (IP1200) TV-Box.

And the UHD STB is a lot quicker to use than the β€œold” TV-Box.

Good morning, I think you have been helped in the meantime, is that correct?

      @UrsSch

Not everyone wants or can always put their hands on money to buy what Swisscom would like. How much does the box currently cost, still 120.-?

      Hello @Gioni

It is clear that not all customers want to buy a new TV-Box.

The customer can and may decide for themselves.

But if the customer invests a lot of money in such a good Logitech RC One, then the note about the new UHD STB is certainly helpful, because in my opinion it clearly has some advantages over the HD version.

      Good day

      Yes, I contacted @Pedrino πŸ˜‰

I also thank you very much for your help πŸ™‚

Hello, what if I buy a UHD box at Ricardo and connect it to myself?

Does it work properly after a reset, or does Swisscom have to β€œunlock” it?

Ps.: The box still costs 120CHF, which I find completely overpriced for a long-time customer!

      Until then, thank you πŸ™‚

      you can install without anything.

should even work without a reset:okay_hand:

      Hello @blockbuster98

You can use a Swisscom UHD STB purchased from Ricardo at home without any problems if it TV-Box has no defect πŸ˜‰ which could be the case.

The only thing that doesn’t work is that you can then run both of your SCTV boxes at the same time.

Each one runs individually on your Anschluss. But not both at the same time.

If you want both TV boxes to work at the same time on Anschluss, then you have to contact the Swisscom hotline so that they can increase your Anschluss (TV-Box counter). However, this still has a cost impact if you want to operate additional TV boxes on your Anschluss.

But replacing your HD TV-Box with a UHD TV-Box is possible.

      @UrsSch

Thank you for the information πŸ™‚

I just bought a UHD box at Ricardo for 40CHF.

What I wanted to know is the following:

Can I also sell the old HD box in Ricardo, or is this forbidden because you haven’t paid for the HD box?

I see a lot of nΓ€hmilch offers in Ricardo with HD boxes

Thank you and see you then πŸ˜‰

I’m also looking forward to the answer @UrsSch

My conclusion: neither Swisscom, nor Ricardo or the customers seem to care one bit that the HD box is actually the property of Swisscom…

But it has apparently already happened that Swisscom then charges the customer the 150.00.

      Hello @blockbuster98 @kaetho

I’m not a specialist when it comes to legal details.

But as far as I know, the HD-TV-Box is clearly the property of Swisscom according to the contract (commercial loan).

The UHD TV-Box is then the property of each customer again, as it has also been paid for by the customer.

I can’t tell you why these HD TV boxes appear on Ricardo, for example, and this has no consequences for the actual SCTV customers that the STB originally had.

I’m guessing that the effort and return are not correct or these boxes are not tracked 100%.

I don’t know these details myself.

But if you @blockbuster98 want to be on the safe side, then you are not allowed to sell the HD box but can keep it with you or give it back to Swisscom.

      Thanks for the info πŸ™‚

      I have this link found…[https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/geraet/swisscom-tv/swisscom-tv-uhd-20.html#tab=0](https://www.swisscom. ch/de/private customers/help/device/swisscom-tv/swisscom-tv-uhd-20.html#tab=0)

It says: β€œHow to install the Swisscom TV-Box (UHD) and, if desired, return the old TV-Box”.

      What does β€œif desired” mean?

Doesn’t that mean to me that I can do whatever I want with the box??

      Hmmm, that’s strange…

What do you think about that?

      Thanks until then πŸ˜‰

      Show original language (German)

No, not strange, but logical:winking: The whole text that you linked , refers to the UHD box.

β€œIf you have purchased a Swisscom TV-Box (UHD) from the latest generation, it is your property. If you no longer need it, you can return it. Swisscom can refresh the TV-Box and make it available to another customer as a replacement device.”
