Thanks for the tip. But unfortunately the same result as with the line I tried:
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.ZZZ/ data /media/ftp -o user=nasuser,password=nasuserpw,sec=ntlm
"mount error(115): Operation now in progress
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)"
My settings on the IB2:
Fixed IP for applications: 192.168.1.ZZZ
Applications>Central Storage = On, Password Protection= on/
User= nasuser
Password=nasuserpw
My settings on the Raspi:
Fixed IP = yes
User = puser
Password=puserpw
Group=users
Also tried with an entry in fstab:
//192.168.1.ZZZ/Data /media/ftp cifs username=nasuser,password=nasuserpw,uid=puser,gid=users 0 0
Unfortunately it didn’t work either.
If I ping the IP address: 192.168.1.ZZZ of the NAS on the IB2 via sudo everything is ok:
"17 packets transmitted, 17 received, 0% packet loss, time 16669ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.446/0.542/0.693/0.070 ms"
There must be something to be done!
But as a Linux greenhorn, I’m at my wits’ end. Even with the wiki on the side.

your solution looks like the faster USB 3 disk to use with the Raspberry as an FTP server?
A Raspi is a nice thing. There are many IoT stories that can be produced with it. The VKF/GV thus realizes, for example: hail protection.
If you write something via xmpp, it runs via a Raspi.
But quickly and Raspi, that’s mutually exclusive either way 🙂
Buy a smart NAS. That’s fast.
Thanks to everyone for their willingness to help. I’ll take a look at the forums mentioned.
@Tuxe0ne:
I was looking for a Raspi solution for my own FTP server that is supplied with videos and images from 2 nesting box cameras.
I have this solution. There was only talk of optimization here.
I’m not looking for any possible applications or gimmicks. I’m also not dogmatically for or against NAS, IB, Win, Linux or anything else. For me these are all just tools, nothing else.
The smart NAS is not an improvement to the solution because it consumes too much power.
hello @Erni49
sry for ot: the thing with the nesting box camera has been a project in the back of my mind for a long time. I just haven’t found a smart, good quality camera yet. do you have a tip for me? Greetings René
hello @Erni49

Greetings to beautiful Valais

Thank you for the compliment.
I have also described the description and initial experiences with the camera and the Raspberry FTP server on my website www.huter.ch:
