This is a big mess on Swisscom’s part and my suspicion is that Swisscom is doing this on purpose.
What do I mean exactly?
I was in the pay-per-view area at Swisscom TV on Saturday morning. You can see season 7 under “Videos” -> “Series”. So far so good. But the first two episodes will still be shown on Saturday. Episodes 1 and 2. Before purchasing the entire season, it gives the impression that the two episodes can already be watched. If you go to Episode 2, there is even the usual “Watch” button, but it doesn’t work for Episode 2 because it won’t be activated until later.
However, there is NO indication on TV that the series will only be activated gradually.
To this day I don’t understand why either only the episodes that are already available are shown or all the episodes of the entire season.
This gives the impression that by some miracle Swisscom is allowed to display one episode more than any other.
Swisscom has no insight, I called them twice and sent an email, they confirm that it is as described above, but they don’t want to change it.
Why should it be, this is a good way to make money. To me it’s just a rip off and I would like it if more people complained about such practices.
When I bought the entire 7th season, it was stated that the new episode would be broadcast on MONDAY at 8:15 p.m. But that didn’t happen! And when I called, the employee was very cheeky! And why are there no subtitles? You can speak German or English, but no subtitles?
It’s been almost 24 hours since I reported the problem to Swisscom and so far no solution. All I’ve heard in response so far is: “You’re not the only one who can’t watch the episode, I can’t help you any further.” 😒😡
That’s exactly how I felt too. I happened to take a look on Sunday and saw that the first two episodes were already showing. Then I decided to buy the season. The fact that the episodes are now only available to me on Wednesdays is unacceptable to me. Game of Thrones is a series that you want and should watch as soon as possible. It’s a bit like being allowed to watch the Champions League two days after everyone else and still having to pay in full…

I see it exactly that way.
That simply can’t be what’s happening here.
even radio srf tells what the episode was like and where you can watch it everywhere. the French-speaking Swiss even watch it for free on freetv.
Unfortunately, I also fell into the trap. Unfortunately, you have to give Swisscom one thing: when it comes to marketing, they are really in a league of their own. I also saw the two buttons for episodes 1 and 2 and got so excited. How “hateful” was I when the second episode still didn’t start today. Beer was cold, popcorn was made and three colleagues were sitting on the sofa…
Find this Swisscom practice in the bottom drawer. If you go to HollyStar or Exlibris, then the whole thing is listed fairly. The buttons for available episodes are in color and the buttons for future episodes are grayed out. If you click on it, you can see the data where the consequences are then shown. And strangely enough, these providers manage to make the episodes available from Tuesday. Of course also cheaper than with Swisscom. And you don’t have to take out an expensive subscription beforehand… I’ve always thought that a certain service should cost something. I guess I have to get rid of this misconception.
Evil tongues claim that they do this in complete seriousness. They have to pay fewer numbers than the others who show the episodes from Tuesday, but they collect more! The deception with the two buttons underlines this theory. Because you only notice that the second button doesn’t work after the whole thing has been purchased. If Swisscom had been so fair and released the data, then some people would have decided against Swisscom. Why should I pay more than the competition even though the episodes are broadcast later? It can’t be that I’m being spoiled all around because Swisscom doesn’t manage to show the whole thing in a timely manner.
Instead of GoT episode two, I had a discussion today about Swisscom… three of the four discussion participants are moving soon. Obviously it’s worth taking a look at other providers, because expensive is obviously not better!
Too late to see this. After several people have already fallen into the trap. If I had known it would be Wednesday, I wouldn’t have chosen Swisscom! This is what you get from being a loyal Swisscom customer.
Here you should have the right to demand your money back because you were really misled by the display of episode 2! impudence
Hello
Thank you for your comments.
Despite multiple complaints, Swisscom does not respond. They don’t pay any money back and what I find even worse is that they still haven’t included any additional text.
I’m not really bothered about the money, but I hate being conned like that. This is the bottom drawer of customer acquisition and I wouldn’t have expected it from Swisscom.
Please continue to complain and/or forward this to other media etc.
Thank you.
Oh yes, finally the so-called broadcast days or should I say theoretical broadcast days are online?
According to today’s statement from Swisscom, there is a nationwide disruption?! (Although you should be able to see episode 3 today) What will I hear tomorrow?:smileymad:
Where do you get your money back?
That borders on fraud!
Thanks for the tip Grizzy
It worked, in any case you can watch the episode over the internet 😄 Whether the “Watch” button will also be visible in the Swisscom TV (box) remains to be seen, it is not yet visible.
A little embarrassing Dear Swisscom, do I seriously have to connect my PC to the TV just so I can watch the third episode? Then I can just throw the TV box in the trash?!
So to the solution!
It was possible to watch the third episode online. The watch button on the Swisscom TV box only appeared after the TV box was restarted.
Dear Mr. or Ms. Grizzy, please get a job at Swisscom then you will at least have one person with ideas and a solution. Maybe next time you’re on the phone you won’t just hear:
“Unfortunately we can’t do anything because we have a Switzerland-wide disruption and we don’t know when the problem will be fixed.”
Shame on you Swisscom!
