Hello @Vusteirio16

Which M-Budget TV-Box and which M-Budget RC do you have?

If I’m not mistaken, then the M-Budget TV boxes are not 100% the same as SwisscomTV.

And actually you could teach the IR commands of the M-Budget RC directly to your Logitech or other universal remote, because I am of the opinion that M-Budget does not use Bluetooth Low energy (BLE) RC’s but still uses IR RC’s.

Therefore, this USB adapter would not be necessary for you, as the M-Budget would also have to have an IR receiver 😉
Information without guarantee, as I do not know all M-Budget TV boxes in detail…

Greetings

On the back it says IP1200….remote control is black…I assume it’s Bluetooth because I can’t learn any commands…no ones are received from the HArmony Hub…

M-Budget Support (miserable as always) didn’t even know what a HArmony remote control was…You mean they have a special configuration and it probably doesn’t work because you can’t configure anything…but it doesn’t need any configuration, you just have to plug it in, right? Swisscom support says I’m not a Swisscom customer and therefore no support and no dongle delivery… What you don’t have to do to have one less remote control…

The M-Budget TV boxes that I have seen so far all work with IR remote controls, so the IR receiver is built in and an external IR receiver is no longer necessary….

Are you sure your TV box doesn’t have an IR built-in?

Hello @Vusteirio16

The USB dongle does nothing other than convert the IR signals into USB HID commands.

However, the appropriate mapping for the USB dongle and its commands must then be stored on the TV-Box.

And I doubt this has the M-Budget TV-Box.

Because this product from m-budget does not offer such a dongle.

You have a budget product… one more reason to consider switching to SwisscomTV 😉

Greetings

@Vusteirio16 Do you want to know whether your FB works with infrared? Nothing simpler than this:

Cover the front of your remote control with a thick cloth or put the TV-Box in a box. Only one Bluetooth FB then works as usual.

Here in the forum it was reported that you can see the infrared signals flashing through the viewfinder with a camera. I tested this with my Sony camera. I see the infrared transmitter of my One-For-All FB flashing through the viewfinder.

It was reported here in the forum that the original FB from the M-Budget TV is extremely direction-dependent. This can also be noticeable when “learning”. The problem could also lie with the box. I can therefore not rule out with absolute certainty that an IR dongle in the box will bring an improvement (?).

Hello Jan

What do you want to control? Swisscom Box and Samsung TV do not need a dongle. This is only needed for Logitech remote controls or similar. For the HD box with USB Anschluss I still have dongles for Fr. 49.—

Hi Peter

yes, I would like to control the Swisscom TV UHD box with my new Samsung T remote control, so that I only have to use one remote control from the Samsung TV.

Why not the other way around?

The Swisscom remote control can also operate the Samsung TV - at least ON/OFF, volume and, in the latest version, source switching.

Even if you had an IR receiver, I doubt that SAmsung knows/can use Swisscom’s IR codes
