Cell phone calls: Video calls are not possible, why?

Cell phones involved:

Samsung Galaxy s4mini, with mBudgetOne subscription

Samsung Galaxy s7, with Natel Business Infinity 2.0s

Samsung Galaxy s5, with???Swisscom subscription

Several unsuccessful attempts to make a (telephony) video call between the above (two) cell phones (instead of a normal call) always end with the message “No video call is possible on this number” (or something like that). Why?

However, a few months ago I was able to easily make a video call with an old Galaxy s2 to the s5 above.

Video telephony has always worked problem-free for me for years.

But exactly from the moment (about 4 weeks ago) when VoLTE was activated on my Samsung S7 edge, it no longer works at all.

@seraphan In over 20 years of Swisscom I have NEVER had a Swisscom branding device and it has always worked. In my opinion that has nothing to do with it.

Hello Bomar. I used the function very little and only ever worked on the branding devices. But you’re right, since VOLTE is active it doesn’t work for me either

Yes, try with normal phone function/app. made.

Didn’t use any branding devices (all 3) (when it still worked + even now).

I now have VoLTE on the s7, but it stopped working about 4 weeks ago (still without VoLTE).

Update:

While two colleagues with their Samsung s5 and s6 next to me (on the Swisscom network) are making video calls with each other without any problems, I’m standing there looking stupid:smileyfrustrated:

So I went to the Swisscom shop in the neighboring town. The friendly advisor there tried with her cell phone, and vice versa, result: “No video call is possible on this number”! Your answer as to why this works for my colleagues: “Yes, we have also identified problems, but we don’t have a solution.”

THANK YOU SC!
