  • Dear forum members

The next software update for your Swisscom TV 2.0 box is in the starting blocks. We will make this available to you on a staggered basis from Tuesday April 14th and brings the following interesting innovations:

    HbbTV: “Hybrid Broadcasting Broadband TV”

Hbbtv.jpgHbbTV connects digital television with the Internet and lets customers enjoy new, interactive televisions with just the push of a button Immerse yourself in television worlds. Depending on the television station, you can not only access additional information about the current program, but also browse online video stores or actively participate in votes or games via televoting.
Customers can start HbbTV with a simple click on the red “Extra” button on their TV 2.0 remote control.
HbbTV can be found on all SRG HD channels (excluding SRF info HD) as well as on ARD, ZDF, ORF 1 and ORF 2. It is free to use and no special TV sets are required for reception.

    Dropbox application

Dropbox.pngDropbox customers can now also play their photos, videos and music tracks on their TV . You can find the application required for this in the app tips on Swisscom TV 2.0.
When using the app for the first time, customers receive a message asking them to connect the application to their Dropbox user account. You can do this conveniently on your computer or smartphone. Using the Dropbox application is free.

    Deezer application

    DLNA DMR Service (Beta)

dlna.jpgThis service allows you to play photos, films and music from your smartphone or tablet on the TV. screen. It’s easy to use: Customers just need to install the DLNA controller application on their mobile device and their favorite content can be displayed on the TV. A DLNA DMP (player) app is planned at a later date so that content from the PC, NAS or the Internet box can be played on the TV.

DLNA controller applications: There are a variety of possible applications. For iOS and Android users, for example, “iMediaShare” and Windows Mobile “Lumia Play to”. Customers with a Synology Diskstation can use the existing apps “DS file”, “DS audio” and “DS video”. When using a third-party app, the customer accepts their terms of use. There is currently no solution from Swisscom.

Please feel free to share suggestions for other applications that can be used here in the forum.

    Improved “Recent” function

Recent.jpgWe have further improved the ability to quickly switch between the last two channels you watched. The “Recent” function now also supports the replay, recording and VoD functions.

    Show episode titles

For series, the episode title is now also displayed on the program detail page.

    Unsubscribed channels

For channels that are not included in their own subscription, customers can now use the OK button to go directly to the “Channels & Subscriptions” menu, where they can subscribe to the missing channel package with one click.

We hope you enjoy the new functions and continue to enjoy unlimited television.

Kind regards from the Swisscom TV 2.0 team

You cannot hide the clock. She should disappear again herself.

If it takes too long, the Back button can be pressed.

If it doesn’t disappear at all, this is a mistake. Then restart or reset the TV box.

You can also point out if it’s something good. This update is very good for me! HbbTV and especially the Recents function are a highlight for me. Also the episode titles. Keep it up!

I still have one comment. Please update the TV 2.0 app so that the episode titles also appear there. That is currently not the case. Please expand the DLNA function as quickly as possible so that direct network access to NAS, PC, etc. is possible.

    HBbTV yes.

    But on which channels?

For me I only get corresponding advertisements from the ÖR from D, CH and Ö.
Even with ZDFinfo, for example, I get the message HBbTV is not available.

The RTL Group channels all say, Nope, no HBbTV.

I activated it in the menu.

    Hello.

I also received the update last night. However, I don’t see a remote player in the DS Video to be able to play the video on the TV.

Do I have to set/activate anything else for this?

    Thanks

At the moment only some channels (CH, D, AT) are HbbTV capable. Swisscom has communicated that the channels will gradually be equipped with it, so this message from the RTL Group is unfortunately also logical at the moment. I don’t know where the problem lies, but I think this will now be gradually expanded, similar to the HD stuff

If you play a film, then click at the bottom right (I think on TV), then you have a choice where you want to stream it. This also works on my Mac

The DS Video iPhone app has a television symbol with a “Play” arrow in it at the top right. Behind this are the possible destinations for the output. The TV2.0 box should have the name you gave it or something like “Living Room” or “Living Room” by default.

    11 days later

I was able to test the DLNA function yesterday, and I have the following to say about it.

Select a film from the NAS (Synology) using the app (BulbbleUPNP) and have it played from the Swisscom TV 2.0 box. I noticed that the box didn’t play any sound. After a while I found out that this was due to the sound format.

Film files in mkv format with an ac3 soundtrack worked without any problems, but mkv with a dts soundtrack did not.

Will DTS support still be available?

How exactly does it work with Synology DS-Photo so that I can view the pictures on the TV?

Possibly a variant, but it has to be a SmartTV and it has to be in the network like the NAS.

You can then play media (music, photos, films) directly from the NAS via the SmartTV and you don’t need a TV2.0 box.

    ….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

    Hello everyone,

First of all, thanks to Swisscom for the update. I think the right path has been taken. Thanks!

    About my problem:

I can stream photos directly to the TV box via mobile phone or PC without any problems. Works great.

But it doesn’t work with videos.

The “wheel” turns and turns and turns.. Probably buffering..

No matter what format or file size (I tried 400MB/25min), the box doesn’t play any video.

I tried this with Win8.1 and about 10 different Andorid apps.

Am I doing something wrong here?

    Thank you for your help.

    Greeting

    Marco

    Me again.

    Done more tests.

As long as the video is on the PC (HDD), streaming now works great!

Only videos from the NAS (Internet box/500GB USB3.0) don’t work.

    Greeting

    Marco
