I myself am convinced with fixed IP addresses outside the router range!

Mainly when it comes to network printers and NAS.

I can confirm that. I used to have problems with permanently assigned IP addresses in the router’s DHCP range, even though the router was supposed to handle this correctly. Since I have consistently divided it into a DHCP range and an area for the fixed/static addresses, there are no longer any problems.

In addition, no second DHCP server (e.g. from a Fritz box) should be active in the same subnet.

Funny, I just came across this exact problem last week at Centro Business (also Pirelli/ADB). The CB simply does not respond to ARP requests except for the default gateway. I traced it with Wireshark! I finally solved it with an external switch… The tested IPs were all fixed IPs outside the DHCP range but of course in the same subnet.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t contact support because I’m running the CB on a residential Anschluss. Cost me more than 1 hour of troubleshooting.

I still had a fixed IP outside the range until a few days ago, but then the problem described started. It could have started when I installed the Chromecast (I don’t see the connection). Well, I’ll try out the suggested solutions and report back if I’m successful.

For me the problem was only with a single client, which I also reinstalled due to a virus. So it’s definitely not the fault of the OS, especially since it works without any problems on the switch and I also see that the ARP request goes out, but there’s no response. I suspect it’s the MAC address of the PC… still a serious bug in my opinion!
