At first I thought: no problem, you can just teach the universal remote control by holding the original remote control on it… but the original remote control can’t do IR at all… Samsung or Logitech would have to record the Swisscom TV box commands in their online catalog first. Will that be the case when the IR converter is released? or am I making a mistake in my thinking?

that’s the way it is. If Logitech or Samsung don’t put the “profile” of the new Swisscombox online, the IR converter is pointless…

But I could also imagine that the box has a learning program in it and you can learn the box. So à la: Press the power button on your FB…Thanks, now the button for volume +….." This would have the advantage that you can not only teach all-in-ones, but in principle every FB .

Now that would be a suggestion, it hasn’t been programmed into the TV-Box yet?

But I’m assuming that Logitech will supplement their database with the command set of the new box. There are still “a few days” left!

Someone from Swisscom would have to contact Logitech (or someone who knows the remote control’s command set 😉

Very good news.

Now Swisscom should get in on the action and test it carefully first.

So switching to 2.0 would be one less hurdle for me 🙂

Probably won’t be updated yet, still needs a little patience, Samsung remote controls also need to be adjusted.

TV 2.0 is still very new and there will still be a few things missing, but it’s good that the deficiencies are pointed out here in the community, so Swisscom will record them in order to make improvements.

An infrared adapter will probably be available at the beginning of next month to support the corresponding remote controls.

For the older Harmony One, in the software: Devices / Add Device / Cable Satellite Receiver / Digital Cable TV Box; and then select ‘Swisscom’ as manufacturer and enter model ‘Swisscom Tv 2.0’. The box will then be recognized.

Now we just have to wait for the IR adapter 🙂

I also have an (older) Harmony and am waiting for the IR adapter.

But what I would prefer even more:

a standalone remote control app that I can download onto any Android (Iphone) and then control the Bos via Bluetooth.

So basically the original Swisscom remote control software as an app on my smartphone. And I do NOT mean the Swisscom TV app!

Why Bluetooth? The WLAN version of the TV 2 app is much more stable/robust

The advantage of a remote control app on my cell phone would be:

1.) one less device lying around (cell phone is always with you anyway)

2.) no more battery problems, I charge my cell phone regularly, no more FB that doesn’t work 😉

This app would be perfect if I could freely place the functions, i.e. the “buttons”, on my smartphone as I wanted.

As I said, the Swisscom TV app is great, but in no way replaces a real remote control.
