Cannot transfer files larger than 4 GB to NAS

I have a HDD connected to the INTERNEX BOX 2 via USB3.0 port and Central Storage is active.

There is no problem in the functioning of the NAS. The drive is shared.

However, if I try to transfer data larger than 4GB either from PC or another drive which is also part of the NAS; it fails with error the moment it reaches 4 GB of transfer.

On Windows, it gives "Error 0x8007003B: An Unexpected Network Error Occurred" and similar problems on Linux.

I tried different ways and different transfer protocols but the result is the same.

INTERNEX BOX 2 is on latest firmware and all settings seem in order.

Most transfers have a maximum size that can be transferred per file. This can not be changed because the Internet Box is a closed ecosystem.

is the disk FAT32 formatted?

No it is NTFS formatted. If connect it directly to the PC I can store large files without a problem. It is not about the drive, it is about Internet Box not supporting such large transfers over the network. A firmware or OS update would be welcomed

Would IB3 bring any solution to this limitation?

I dont think so, because this is not a bug its a security feature.

If you transfer a higher amount of data per file, it is possible that it is going to be corrupt.

The default limitation for SMB Services ist mostly 250MB to 2 GB. Swisscom used 4GB to make it easier.

If you dont want a Limitation -> then use a own Samba Server. Its Easy and if you want you can create a Cloud with this too: then you have access from everywhere.

Ok, just formated a 64 Gb stick with exfat and will test to copy a large file to the NAS.

Sandisk 64 Gb stick, formated to NTFS directly from the ib3 GUI.

testing right now with a 5 GB ISO file....

It's copying at about 55 MB/s... directly connected through 1GB ethernet cable.

Update:

after 50% of the copy progress, speed has dropped to about 20 MB/s

CPU Usage of IB3 was max 9%.

File was copied without any problems.

Test was done from windows 10 1909 client.

Doing the same wifi MacOS (latest) on WIFI (still IB3, no repeater)

MacOS Result for a 5 GB File (via Wifi) --> about 7 minutes --> about 12MB/s

So in summary:

file copy did work very fine in my case
Mac / Windows, fine
Ethernet / Wifi fine
Speed was not so good, but could be my sandisk usb stick
