Thanks for the quick reply!
I understand the value the contract had ten years ago when iPhones were new, but in 2019 Visual Voicemail is a standard.
And considering that more and more people are switching to Android, it seems logical that Swisscom would forget the contract and modernize its offering a bit.
(Don’t know if Swisscom employees read the forum)
Come here via Pixel Forum. https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/5828752?hl=en Today messages popped up on several Androids that SMS want to be sent to 30047. That pointed to Swisscom. (Although M-Budget subscriptions are also included) Apparently VVM is now activated. After testing it briefly, it doesn’t seem to work yet.
Exactly the same thing for me (Essential Phone on Wingo)… seems to have activated itself on native Android @Anonymous or with an automatic Play Store update of the Android dialer (no system update, the last one is from the beginning of August and in a few days there will be Q) to do; Previously I didn’t have a Mailbox menu item in the dialer either. I’ve now switched it off again to get rid of the message (you really think you’ve caught something). Even though I’ve never missed VVM (unlike VoLTE, which unfortunately still doesn’t on the PH-1 along with Wingo), I certainly welcome the fact that the majority of smartphone users are no longer discriminated against.
So I’m not particularly receptive to irony in the “welcome to the future” style in this context. Many other providers worldwide have been offering VoLTE, WifiCalling, VVN for a long time. Only when I look at these topics here in the forum is there an extreme slowdown, except for the iPhone. All the arguments like “Google is to blame”, right up to quality pretexts… And then when things move forward in the background, things get messed up at the first attempt without communication….??
a: A lot of Android devices now support VoLTE & Co natively in our network. We are also annoyed that some manufacturers do not integrate the necessary settings. It’s really not up to us. Every device that has the settings integrated is permitted on our network.
b: We are in discussions with Google to ensure that VVM is activated as agreed. This SMS message shouldn’t come at all. From our point of view, it is also a nuisance because it causes uncertainty among customers. Hope the situation will improve soon.
Hello, I received a “Looking for new voicemails” notification from the Telephone app today.
After I opened the app, the voicemail tab was back (it had disappeared with Android 10).
It was also written that the voicemail could not be connected.
I also now have a toggle in the app settings to (de)activate VVM.
"Start/Stop VMM) on 444 no longer works either.
Does this mean that VVM is finally here, but something isn’t working, or is it an Android 10 bug?
