Error on website - No answer to the question "What's the use of a Google account?"

    doesn’t give me an answer to the question. Swisscom should repair this URL. I would really like to know what the Google account is for. I try to avoid Google wherever possible. Horrible if Swisscom were to force me to get involved with Google. So I want to know what functions I still have if I skip registering a Google account. What happens when I log in? Everything is very unclear.

    Basically everything is described in this link. No idea what doesn’t work…? You only need a Google account if you also want to install apps from the Play Store. Not more. You can also skip this step. You don’t need a Google account. You only have to accept the terms of use for legal reasons. By the way, Google has always been on it!

    Thanks for the tip but I think it has nothing to do with the cache. The Swisscom website on the topic [Swisscom is converting TV boxes to the new Android operating system](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/blue-tv/update.html#neue-funktion=&acc- MZ-TtQ%5Bselected%5D%5B%5D=2) is silent about the information that @UrsSch kindly provided has stated in detail and the supposedly further links have just circularly led back to the same, far too meaningless website. In addition, the link you provided only leads me back to this discussion. But it’s not all that important, @UrsSch helped me and I now know exactly how I can protect my privacy a bit, because a Google login on the TV would be out of the question for me.
