I know itās ājustā the community here, but why exactly is there no way back to the old version? Are there technical reasons for this? You could simply see that the new version has clearly deteriorated usability and switch back to the old version until you have adapted the quality of the new version to the old one?
As a user you cannot influence the execution of the new WEB-Mail.
The new WEB-Mail certainly makes some technical changes in the background to adapt it.
If always possible as already mentioned several times, an external email program should be used such as: the Thunderbird which offers many more options and works on all leaf shapes.

The migration only works in one direction, migrated is migrated.
I am happy about the new Bluewin Webmail and think it is much better than the previous one. There are still a few little things to improve but that doesnāt make it unusable. Nobody can please everyone; there are always dissatisfied people who have difficulty coping with innovations.
The layout can be set almost as it was before using the settings.
You can choose a different layout for the email list:
Click on the gear menu at the top right and select the desired layout.
The multi-line email preview can also be switched off:
Gear Menu -> All Settings -> Mail -> Read -> Email List Item -> ** Show text preview** -> deactivate (uncheck)
A lot can be set in the menus, just try it out, you canāt really go wrong. Many functions can be accessed using the right mouse button and are self-explanatory. Help is also available in the web interface:
Question mark -> Help or Introduction tour.
My experiences with the new options have almost always been very positive. For example, a much-requested āAllow/blockā function for email addresses or domains is now a reality.
Some things arenāt entirely obvious, but after a bit of searching and trying, youāll find that too. Thereās a bit of a problem in one or two places, but that will certainly be fixed. The interface responds very quickly, only switching between different mailboxes takes longer than before.
Just āplayā with the many options and the training wonāt be so bad. Or ask here again or use an email program like Thunderbird.

The old version is EOL and has a lot of quirks (the forum here is full of them) and 2 parallel systems (one of them ancient) are certainly not operated

For me it is not a solution if you have to recommend using an external email program just because the new interface was poorly implemented. Because then you could have left it with the old WEB-Mail, because you can use an external email program.
The old WEB-Mail was easier to work with and was clearer. The new functions to better deal with SPAM are really great, but overall in my opinion it has become worse and more confusing. And yes, I have adjusted all possible settings so that the interface matches the old one as much as possible.

Regardless of whether you use webmail or an external mail program, there is no guarantee that you will like the further development of the interface. The userās influence on the appearance is limited; not everyone likes the new design. External programs also change the display with new versions!
For example, when using an external program you can: switch from Outlook to Thunderbird or eM-Client,
When using webmail, you have to change email if you donāt like the interface and canāt get used to it.
On mobile devices, the screen is so small that using an app for webmail is much better - regardless of the provider.
I like the new interface and donāt want to go back to the old one, but I only use webmail in exceptional cases.

Of course I agree with you that it makes no sense to operate two systems side by side, especially if one of them is so error-prone.
I find the old interface more compact and clearer. I have adjusted all the settings so that the interface is as compact and clear as possible.
Please donāt get me wrong, I also think the improvements are great. Iām just missing old functions too.
Is there a post where improvement requests for missing functions are collected?
Iām currently missing:
- Checkbox like in the old interface above the emails (the individual checkboxes in front of each email) of a page or view, where I can select that all emails in this view are selected (not all emails in total), and I can then deselect them that I donāt want to delete. Which makes it easier for me because I then have to click less.
- In the old interface there was the option to switch directly to different areas (similar to 1-100, 101-200, 201-300, etc.), which was practical instead of long scrolling.

For example, you can mark blocks by block. First select the checkbox in the top line of the block.
Then select the checkbox in the bottom line of the block while holding down the CTRL key.
But in fact, there is still potential for improvement when selecting emails. @PescheM
For example, deselecting blocks or all markings is not possible.
Another error is, for example, if you mark one or more lines and then delete them, then the checkbox moves to the next line instead of disappearing with the deleted lines.

Personally, I think itās a shame that you can no longer open multiple emails in tabs.
Or is there a hidden catch somewhere that I havenāt discovered yet?
And I also think that the fact that an email is always āpre-markedā is suboptimal. If I mark one (the desired) email further down and delete it, two are goneā¦ With the old webmail there was at least the āSelect-allā box at the top with which you could mark all emails and unmark them againā¦

There are various customization options via Gear => All Settings

Now Iām going back to webmail, otherwise I use Thunderbird.
At the top right of the list there is a menu with three points with various options,
