Hello @Pharao

Thank you very much, so you now get 5.1 in Dolby Digital Plus from the TV box.
So you now have surround sound.
That’s fine if you’re on SRF1.
If you now go to SRF info you still have DD+ 5.1 where the station only sends stereo and there is also a bug here and we output this 2.0 signal from SRF info as 5.1 where only R and L are used and C, Rs and Ls are empty or carry no signal.
This means that with SRF info or all stations that broadcast in stereo/2.0 you only hear something from R and L.
But we fixed this with a software update.

You can get all channels that broadcast in 5.1 as normal. although SRF 1 mostly only uses the C for the Tagesschau.
Hope this helps a little.

Hello @Pharao

Uhh yes you mentioned…
What does your Denon show you when you’re on Netflix and you’re playing a film in stereo and 5.1?
Can you send a photo of the Denon UI again?

Hello @Pharao

There is another customer here in the community with the same device and he is probably having the same problems as you.
We are in the process of organizing such a device so that we can test the part because there is probably a problem with the device itself.

Hello @Pharao

Yes, there is actually a problem with this AVR 😉
We will have one in the next few days and can then start troubleshooting and whether it is also possible for us to reproduce your error.
So you have to be patient until the problem is solved.

But I hope that if you have the TV Box 5 in stereo mode, you will at least have sound, regardless of whether it is LiveTV, Radio VoD or apps?

What you could also test to bridge the gap is to connect the TV Box 5 directly to the TV and then go to the Denon via HDMI-(e)ARC and then check whether it works better?

@“x”#62866Netflix doesn’t care which mode only when I hang the box on the Samsung it switches to DTS. I hope the tests bring a solution with my Denon and thank you for your efforts. I watch Netflix via the Samsung app and Vod are no problem at all. I have now set DD+ again and adjusted the volume level on my speakers. But as I said, the TV Box 5 does have some flaws

You can route the HDMI output of the SwisscomBox5 directly to the TV. You then have to route the sound from the TV to the sound system via an optical spid cable. Then you’ll also hear about Netflix Surround Audio. In order to hear the sound of the SRF stations, I had to select non-compressed surround in the audio settings of the Swisscom Box. Swisscom is working on fixing the problem of the missing Netflix sound in the configuration you are using. Until then, use the optical cable.

Thanks, I already know that. I would like to be able to use it with the current wiring. My solution at the moment is to watch the two apps via the Samsung.

I have the same problems. TV with Sonos Soundbar Beam 2. The volume cannot be controlled with the “compressed Dolby Digital Plus” setting. I have now set surround uncompressed Dolby MAT. This works to some extent (sometimes it gets very loud when I restart the TV, then I can only adjust the volume using the SONOS app!

Good evening everyone, I have the same problem… Devices: Samsung TV, Yamaha RX-AS710D, Swisscom Box 5. TV and STV Box 5 are plugged into the receiver via HDMI. ‘Stereo’ is output as PCM. ‘Surround’ as DD+ and with MAT the receiver switches to Dolby TrueHD. In ‘Stereo’ I always have sound, in ‘Surround’ when watching “normal” television, but no sound on Netflix, in MAT I have no sound at all (neither on “normal” TV nor on Netflix), although the receiver has Dolby TrueHD displays.

I’m reassured that others also have this problem - then it’s not my hardware. But an update to Swisscom Box soon would be appropriate. Is there any news about this?

Things are pretty stable for me at the moment:

Samsung TV, SONOS Beam, on TV AnyNet+, HDMI-Anschluss, Dolby MAT with Swisscom Box 5.

The biggest problem with the Samsung TV was the device search. I had to try a few times until the SONOS Beam was found.

@Franz 49: Thanks for your input! But you connected the STV box to the TV and the TV in turn to the beam via HDMI (the beam only has one HDMI Anschluss), right? Do you see anywhere what sound format the beam outputs?

Show original language (German)

I don’t know which sound format my Beam outputs (I’m not enough of a professional to check this). But I think that the format set on the TV (Dolby MAT) will be adopted.

Yes, you definitely connected it correctly - especially if it works 😬. I have several HDMI ports and input-providing devices (STV, ATV, etc.) connected to the receiver. From there, a connection is also made via HDMI to the TV. That’s why the question arises as to why the receiver receives the surround signal from Netflix and the MAT signal does not output at all…
