âOn apprend parfois plus d'une dĂ©faite que d'une victoireâ â JosĂ© RaĂșl Capablanca

Iâve been using ad blockers for ages, whether on my PC or cell phone.
The websites are so cluttered with advertising that it hasnât been nice for a long time.
Every time I deactivate it Iâm shocked all over again.
Iâm happy to pay something on the websites where I spend a lot of time and where there is the possibility of surfing ad-free for a monthly fee.
Like PCGH or CB.
This way I can support your good work and get something out of it.
Iâve had rather bad experiences with ad blockers because, in addition to advertising, important things were also blocked from time to time or it led to other browser malfunctions. In the end, that annoyed me more than the advertising. It works better with the Pi-hole, but it is not error-free either. In the meantime, I have deactivated Pi-hole again and automatically hide the advertising when reading a website.
In the list of example programs, there is a mix between real plugins and browsers offering this type of blocking.
note that certain DNS services also offer this filtering (protection of minors with regard to advertisements that are sometimes erotic/political/religious/etcâŠ).
and that Edge and Firefox browsers have an anti-tracking device allowing, in part, this functionality.
finally, automatic advertising devices can be misused: [www.blick.ch/fr/news/suisse/sur-les-portails-de-medias-suisses-une-pub-montrant-alain-berset-menotte-attention-fake-news-id18299300.html](htt ps://www.blick.ch/fr/news/suisse/sur-les-portails-de-medias-suisses-une-pub-montrant-alain-berset-menotte-attention-fake-news-id18299300.html)
I have been using uBlock Origin successfully for a long time.
I understand that âfreeâ has to be financed with advertising. However, I have no understanding if, for example, subscribed online newspapers are burdened with advertising. Thatâs why I donât feel guilty about hiding the advertising in an appropriate way.
I use the âBraveâ browser on my Android devices and my PCs with Windows 11. This works just as well as Chrome and Edge (also based on Chromium), but is much more secure than the browsers mentioned and prevents tracking, advertising, etc.
With normal WEB mail without a subscription, advertising âalwaysâ appears and you can hide these with an AdBlocker, but a large white field remains.
With an email program e.g. There are no advertisements in Outlook or Thunderbird.
