massive problems on tv.blue.ch

Hello everyone!

For some time now, I have been experiencing malfunctions (iMac 2008 with Safari browser) when I watch programs via tv.blue.ch. Definitely not channel dependent, it’s probably not the browser either (I have the same phenomena with Firefox).

Winding often doesn’t work. The image simply remains black. If I then close the program and want to start it again, in rare cases it starts from the beginning, with luck it continues where I closed it, but usually a few minutes before.

If I want to move a current program back to the beginning, it usually doesn’t work. The transmitter window remains gray and shows the “sound off” icon. Then close the window and I can try again. After a few tries it finally works.

I can live with a lot of problems given my long experience in IT, but the current quality of the website is, to put it mildly, troublesome.

Things have gotten really bad since the introduction of replay advertising.

This affects all shipments. Live TV as well as recordings.

Question to the community: am I the only one with such troublesome problems? Does anyone have any tips on what I can do?

Question to Swisscom: are you aware of this? Is this being worked on?

Thank you very much and best regards

Christian

With Windows 10 and 11 with the Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers, I cannot confirm the problems described. If this were a general problem, there would certainly be several reports about it here in the forum.

But I could imagine that with a device that is almost 15 years old, everything will no longer work properly.

Then it’s probably a misprint in the first line of your post “It’s been happening to me for some time now (iMac 2008 with Safari Browser)”

Anyway, a device that’s only 5 years old shouldn’t be a problem for BlueTV.

What does your internet connection look like:

Hello Hed!

No, it’s not a misprint. I wrote in 2008 instead of 2018. Error from the office 😉

Here are the values of the checker:

Internet speed:

Max. 100 Mbit/s download and 32 Mbit/s upload available

And the speed test values:

And the measured values from the internet diagnosis (I’m happy to give more information if you say something):

I’m going btw. I also assume that it is somewhere with me. I cleared the browser cache, all the updates are installed, but unfortunately I have no idea anymore.

Thank you very much and best regards and a good New Year’s Eve!

@krischan

Is the device connected to the router with a Gigabit Ethernet cable or via WLAN?

Do you use PowerLAN anywhere in your household?

Are you using a 5G booster?

Show original language (German)

Yes, my iMac is connected to the router via LAN cable. My wife doesn’t like WiFi so we only turn it on when necessary. Otherwise it is actually always deactivated.

No PowerLAN and no 5G booster.

Interestingly, I’ve only experienced these phenomena so much since the introduction of replay advertising.

Best regards

Strange that the speed test shows 503 Mbit/s, even though the Anschluss can only do a maximum of 120 Mbit/s.

Do you have another way to access the Internet, e.g. via mobile?

Is the MAC connected directly to the router or via a switch?

Do you use special security software or ad blockers?

Have you already tested bluetv with a different browser or, even better, another device?

Do you also have a normal TV in use and does everything work perfectly there?
