Funny. It was precisely with TV Browser that I noticed that they always had to fight with the issue of copyright.
Unfortunately it is essential given all the nonsense that is in Swisscom’s EPG.
As an example:
Tue, Oct 1st · 01:15-02:30 · MDR Thuringia
The Odysseyhttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt8567862/
https://www.crew-united.com/de/Die-Odyssee__214907.html
You can still see what nonsense is in the EPG.

Zattoo has the same nonsense here too. At least I now know that Zattoo and Swisscom have the same supplier and Teleboy doesn’t.
The worst thing is that Swisscom doesn’t give a damn!
I have on November 2nd. sent the following email:
Dear Mr Buschor,
I would like to address you in marketing.
For over 3 years, blue-TV customers have been trying to point out an improvement in the EPG via “Community – Customers helping customers” because the The existing EPG is absolutely inadequate and has a lot of incorrect data and is often not up to date. Although blue TV is not exactly the cheapest option, low-cost providers such as Teleboy or Yallo-TV manage to offer good EPGs that are also up-to-date.
Swisscom repeatedly points out in the relevant thread that it is up to the data provider.
Many of our colleagues are frustrated that nothing is happening on the part of blue TV, we are constantly being put off, but everything remains the same as the old lousy EPG.
There are also several requests to say that they will look for another provider.
Like my colleagues, I simply don’t understand why the shortcomings are not being addressed by Swisscom / blue-TV. It cannot be the case that a product that is relatively expensive in comparison does not offer a reasonable EPG.
My last hope is that marketing can put pressure on the appropriate Fachbereich.
Thank you in advance for your support and kind regards
There was an auto response:
Dear sender
Thank you for your email, I am out of office until Monday, August 5th, and will not be able to read your message. If you are a Swisscom customer please contact our hotline, they are glad to help: 0800 800 800.
Best regards,
Thomas Buschor
That was all. That shows the interest in the customers.
That’s why unfortunately the community’s labor of love is in vain!
Too bad!
To admire in the TV browser:
Sat., Oct. 26 · 3:30-5:05 p.m. · ORF one
Witches witches
According to the TV browser and the ORF website, these are:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805647/
The Swisscom EPG presents the film data in the usual quality:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100944/
Also missed that program change that evening/night program on ORF one…

Well, just because I was curious, here is the corresponding EPG entry from Teleboy TV:
From a marketing perspective, what can you conclude from these differences in the quality of the various EPGs?
How about these attempts at interpretation:
- If, like Teleboy TV, you still want to win new customers and can only charge about a third as much as blue TV as the price for the 7-day replay offer, then you shouldn’t give yourself the same exposure for the EPG as blue TV?
- in the EPG of blue TV are nicely “framed” pictures simply much more important than correct information?
Otherwise, the following generally applies to the EPG of blue TV:
The fact that it is very defective is nothing new, and the fact that no improvements have been visible for years has been true for a very long time, and the fact that this doesn’t bother the majority of blue TV customers anyway actually seems to be a constant phenomenon 🙂

@RolandMe You write the “metadata provider is being reminded”, how many reminders has he already received, or how many more does he need before something really happens? One thing is clear: the quality of the metadata has been more than poor for several years now.
Blue TV customers not only expect beautiful pictures, but also beautiful and correct information, actors and descriptions of the content.

Swisscom terminology differentiates between funny genres:
- Comedies (films like “Some Like It Hot.”)
- Comedy series (long-running favorites like “Fascht e Familie”)
- Comedy programs (entertainment such as stand-up, cabaret and the “Arosa Humor Festival”)
That’s now also “snow of the past” - now there is only the “Comedy” group and there are also film comedies in it
….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Swisscom not only warns customers who are unwilling to pay, but also lukewarm meta-datlers.
Since this thread has been going on for over four years, kicking it out would be more appropriate.
