I use windows live mail and the mail program on my new laptop. The inboxes in the mail program are lost after the emails are opened. How can I set the program to keep these emails saved?
Windows live mail everything works perfectly. All emails exist.
Imaps activated for mail, junk emails remain saved.
If IMAP is set, the mail should remain on the WEB server, or there is something set in the email program that deletes the mail from the server.

Windows Live Mail is totally outdated, insecure and is no longer maintained by Microsoft.
You should no longer use this program.
Switch to the new “Mail” program that is already included in Windows 10 or, if you want an alternative to Microsoft, to the “Thunderbird” program, which can be downloaded for free from the Internet.
With these two current programs, creating mailboxes is very easy because you only need to know your email address and mailbox password; the rest of the configuration is done automatically.

In addition to the solutions recommended by @Werner, I can also recommend Microsoft Outlook from version 2016, either as part of MS Office or Office 365.

For example, if you are talking about Google contacts (Bluewin contacts cannot be synchronized anywhere), in Thunderbird, unlike W10 Mail, you simply need to install an additional add-on.
