Questions Migrating BIS with DMZ LAN1 to BNS with DMZ
Dear Swisscom,
I have the following questions regarding a migration from BIS to BNS. Since I would have to do this on a productive system, I need to know exactly what is going on beforehand.
Current setup:
Sbcon with Business Internet Services L fix legacy IP/30 and IP/48 FTTH/Mobile Failover
CB 2.0 with DMZ on LAN 1 Firewall off –> own SG on LAN 1 with legacy IP static /30 via DHCP (usable IP) and DHCP6 -PD. All services in the network from the SG including telephony hosted and trunk direct.
Possible migration to BNS:
The BNS instructions state that all Swisscom services such as telephony and TV must be in the corp LAN. QUESTION 1: If the instructions are incorrect, do telephony services (trunk, hosted) also work from the DMZ if it is configured accordingly?
The BNS stack is legacy IP only (IPv4). QUESTION 2: During the BNS migration, does the /48 network go into space even with a DMZ config?
Now to the approach regarding migration.
- Activate BNS for the customer
- Once the dashboard is available, give the BNS role to the router at the site
- Router initializes
- Buy via DB legacy Subnet /30 (the same IP’s are available as on the former BIS Anschluss)
- Activate DMZ, LAN port 1 e.g. activate on Centro Business)
- Fill out the shopping cart and fire off
- Refeed Security Gateway with the static configuration (DHCP is not available in the BNS DMZ)
QUESTION 3: Is the migration procedure correct?
