Problem Home App on Mate 20 pro

  • Hello everyone

The following small but annoying problem with the Home App on the Huawei Mate 20Pro: When I display the telephone contacts for export to the Internet-Box plus, the respective telephone numbers appear twice for each contact.

Then of course also on the Gigaset, which uses the telephone contacts from the box.

Everything is okay in the original database on Google, in the Huawei contacts directory and in the Thunderbird address book.

    Anyone an idea?

Thank you very much and greetings

      Hello @SamuelD, hello community

The contact details were stored on the phone both in the phone’s memory and on Google. This probably happened when I set up the new phone using PhoneClone.

The Home App has taken the phone numbers from both accounts with it. Of course, I don’t know why the contacts themselves weren’t duplicated.

Since this setting on the phone could no longer be changed later, I exported the contacts to Google, deleted all contacts on the phone and then imported the contacts back into the now empty Google. Thanks to the synchronization, my contacts were quickly back on the phone and now everything worked perfectly with the Home App. The contacts are now only on Google and are no longer stored in the phone memory.

I still think it would be a good thing if the contacts could also be synchronized via an account (like Google Contacts) via Swisscom Box. It’s clear why. Of course I don’t know whether this is possible for technical and security reasons.

Thank you very much and have a good time

    Hello @SamuelD

Not the contacts themselves, but within the contacts the respective telephone numbers are duplicated. If I have saved a number for contact A, it is duplicated. If I have saved 2 different numbers for contact B, these two are duplicates. However, contact A and contact B are only present (correctly) once.

Before transferring the contacts, I delete all existing contacts on the box to avoid duplication. I don’t know whether the contacts are updated/added or basically just added.

It would be a really good service if the contact list in the box could be easily synchronized directly with the most frequently used services.

    Thank you very much
