@kaetho for me is a real picture in picture function that I turn on and that stays on as long as I want it to. For me the small preview disappears after about 2 seconds, does it stay with you?

For me, both screens don’t have to be the same size, a small image like the preview is enough for me, sound from the main image is also enough.

OK, understood. But my kids, who mostly sit in front of the TV with their smartphones, have been doing this for a long time. Virtually individualized picture in picture:lol:

That’s also a solution but not the way I would like:lol:

Finally a cutting-edge TV guide.

Renaming the programs so that the title is correct again when the program changes.

A trash can so that you can retrieve programs that have been accidentally deleted. Duration in the trash, let’s say 1 week. The trash will then be automatically deleted. The wastebasket is of course counted towards your personal storage space.

@andiroid If I press the ring button (control) up or down while the TV channel is running, the channel list appears on the left with the live image of the other TV channel.

@user109: Thanks for the additions, now I’ve found the hidden feature too! 😏 So this is actually not picture-in-picture as I know it with my old 100Hz tube Philips with twin tuner. I mean, this is technology from 25 years ago, which I’m referencing here… Even the variant “cell phone/tablet in front of your nose and TV on the wall” doesn’t completely meet the solution.

I already imagine that:

• I’m watching a saved recording, or live TV, or with a time delay. It doesn’t really matter.

• As a result, I press the channel change button for a long time, picture-in-picture is activated and the first thing I see is the current stream in small size at the top right (the corner can be adjusted with options).

• The picture-in-picture remains “constant” while I select a second stream for the large picture with the remote control. This could be a recording, or live TV, or something else.

• Another long-click on the channel change button swaps picture-in-picture with the large screen.

I realize that this now magically duplicates the number of streams. Especially if it is already technically possible today, that shouldn’t be a problem!

😇

But if you ask me what I want…

Was there a request this year that the image quality be increased, i.e. not compressed so much? I read that about sound quality. But it also applies to the picture. This simply looks much better with other sources. Ergo, improve the quality of the picture and sound a bit. You can keep the current profile for customers with long bell wires.

Show original language (German)

Better picture quality in HD. So far the bandwidth has always been reduced. Even if it requires more effort, an HD-HD stream should be offered if necessary. With true 1080p. Usable UHD content, apart from films, is not yet in sight. Scaling Ode/UHD to 1080p.

I would also welcome it if you could receive the programs uncompressed on fiber optic.

That will never be possible. Because the platform would have to be expanded for this. Above all, all channels would have to be stored uncompressed. BUT: The channels come in compressed. And sometimes in poor quality. Uncompressed is only available directly to the broadcasters. For example, the SRG receives its data from stations “RAW”. And then your fiberglass is no longer enough for you. First, look up what uncompressed means.

Show original language (German)

@snowmanch that will be difficult too… But you can dream. Because each stream and compression level requires an encoder (channel). This is then saved and can be accessed afterwards. The data is not prepared on the fly.

The same situation occurs when you cancel your TV subscription. So: “Bought films should belong to me, forever” (somehow that’s the definition of buying…)

Then buy them in physical form so that you are not tied to a platform (Google // iTunes // SCTV // Hollystar etc.) to watch them.

No matter where you buy films in digital form, if you no longer use the platform, the films are gone. There is currently no other way to implement it.

Why should Apple iTunes allow you to watch a film that you bought from Teleclub.

I would also like several ID’s for a TV Anschluss. So that, for example, my children can use TVAir on their PC at home without me having to give them my Swisscom login

Show original language (German)

@Doc I can’t physically use it either, I don’t even have a DVD player anymore. Simply downloading it would be the best, easiest, most obvious and cheapest option. Of course I know that SC can’t do much here because the producers care more about their own earnings than the needs of their customers. (My prediction: Like the music industry, they will eventually realize that no one wants to buy their great product anymore)

But it was about wishes 😉

I hope that in the future the Italian-speaking population of this country will also receive an offer similar to Teleclub, Sky etc. and that Swisscom will take this language group of subscribers into account accordingly.

@NotNormal

So you mean as a download, i.e. as a file? Yes, that probably won’t happen.

due to licensing reasons (as always).

Of course, it could then simply be shared, copied, etc. and of course the good producers and publishers don’t want that. even if there were ways to stop this.

but well, you already tell me what to expect in the future:joy_face:

Personally, I don’t buy films like that. at most rent. Most of the time it is streamed semi-legally:grin_smile:
