Hello Schleicher
The recording date should have no influence. To find out what the problem is, I need more information:
- Which platform do you use? www.mycloud.ch or the mobile app?
- Where are you trying to upload the photos? Under photos or under files?
- What type of file is it? JPEG?
- What exactly is the problem? Can’t upload the photos or view them in myCloud?
It would be easiest if you could send me such a photo for testing purposes, e.g. via myCloud Transfer. Upload the photo to myCloud Transfer, copy the link and send it to me via private message.
Hello LaurinK
Thank you very much for the answer. I use the link mycloud.ch, but also the mobile apps. Format jpeg. I have a lot of old photos, but I can’t upload any photos that have a photo date before January 1st, 1980 in their metadata. The file format isn’t recognized, so they don’t appear in the timeline at all or in the conflicts that you see can be viewed under Settings -> Automatic backup. It then says “invalid file format”.
Recording dates before January 1, 1980 are of course always set manually, there are many ways to do this. In the photo roll on the iPad and iPhone (synchronized via iCloud), the old pictures are displayed in the correct order going back forever. Just not in myCloud, which limits its use for family photos etc. It’s almost as if myCloud can’t do anything with data before January 1st, 1980
In the attachment you will find such a picture from 1959.
If you need more from me, please get in touch.
Thank you very much!
J. Schleicher

Thanks for the information. The attachment thing doesn’t seem to have worked. It is best to use myCloud Transfer. There you can upload a photo and then copy the link here or send it to me as a private message (click on my name and then click on “Send private message” under “Contact me” at the top right). Then we’ll be happy to look at the problem.
Hello!
myCloud Transfer does not work. it comes (on different devices
same) error message:
An unexpected error occurred.
* Your request failed. Contact your
System administrator and enter the date and time of the error as well as this
Exception ID to: 767D56F6.
Click the “Back” button in your browser to continue.
Back to original page
But just try a photo with the date taken before
1.1.80 to load into the chronicle. Then you will immediately see what I mean.
Thanks
