One PLus X Internetprobleme

Hello everyone

I recently bought a One Plus X. Unfortunately, I discovered that the internet only works reliably with an LTE, H or H+ connection. However, with 2G, 3G and 4G I rarely if ever have an internet connection. At least I can always receive SMS.

So far I’ve already readjusted the APN settings (first tried it myself and then had support check it), tried out several SIM cards and got a new One Plus X.

Since I found a few forum posts about the One Plus

If someone has already had these problems, I would be happy if they could help me.

Kind regards and thanks in advance

For an Internet connection, the mobile device must have an existing packet-oriented connection (PSD => Packet Switched Data). Data packets can be sent and received via the packet-oriented connection.

With the circuit-switched connection (Circuit Switched => CS), only voice telephony can be transmitted with “normal” SIM cards. Circuit-switched connection is not supported by 4G/LTE and newer cellular standards. From the cellular standard 4G/LTE or newer, voice telephony is chopped into small data packets (VoIP) and transmitted through the air using the packet-oriented connection.

Whether the packet-oriented connection was established or not can be seen (partially) in the status bar:

2G -> no packet-oriented connection available

3G -> probably no packet-oriented connection available

4G, LTE, 4G+, LTE+ -> packet-oriented connection probably established

G, E, 3G+, H, H+ -> packet-oriented connection established

With the packet-oriented connection, the data packets are sent to the APN. Therefore, the correct configuration of the Internet APN is necessary so that Internet surfing works from a mobile device. If surfing the Internet does not work despite the correct Internet APN configuration, the mobile signal received is probably too weak.

Hello
Since the APN settings should be correct, should the reception be to blame?
As far as I noticed, I also have this problem (at least according to the cell phone display) when I have full reception. However, since I also had poor internet when I had poor reception, I can’t imagine that the reception is to blame here.

Kind regards

Do you also have a bad connection when WiFi is turned off?

It could be that your device is connected to a “suboptimal” WiFi and is therefore not passing through a reasonable amount of data.

good luck with your device
