Internet-Box - supported hard disk format

  • Good morning,

Having realized that the OS X extended format did not work on the box, I connected my 1T external hard drive formatted in MS-DOS (FAT)

Mainly to watch films at home or on the go from the application.

    My problem is the following:

A film with the maximum size of 3.5 GB transfers to my disk without any problem and can be played on the internet box. But most of my films are much larger sizes… :smileyfrustrated:

    What can I do?

Do you have a solution for me or another way to do it knowing that I only work on Mac?

Thank you in advance for any information.

With MS dos on Mac, I don’t know. For the past month I have been working with Mac and the hard drive on the Box is formatted in “Mac OS extended (journaled)” and it works well. On the other hand, to record large file formats like video or music on the hard drive, I take out the hard drive and connect it directly to the Mac to copy them. It records much faster. These may be a possibility to test!

      Good evening Doremi

    Hello Doremi,
My first attempts were of course with my disk formatted in “Mac OS extended (journaled)” mode but the box did not recognize the disk. So I tried under “MS-DOS FAT” and a few small films were displayed. .
What type of format do you use to watch your movies?.mp4.mkv.MPEG-4 etc…??
    Good evening to you too

It is not possible by default with the disk utility to format in NTFS. You need to install software like Paragon NTFS to format and write to NTFS disks (reading possible by default).

    Hi Doremi,
I don’t understand anything about it because this morning I plug my hard drive into my box and like magic it works! Indeed everything works very well so note to the MAC User it works very well with the “Mac OS extended (journalist)” format
Thank you and have a nice day
    Mike
