Internet box Reboot alone

Good morning

It’s all in the title, my internet box on optical fiber 2.0 reboots by itself once a day… turns off and restarts… so no more television, WiFi internet etc…. is there a solution or a moderator to explain to me?

I would like to point out that I have been on fiber for over a year and no problems before, it started almost a month ago….

thanks to you:smileywink:

Hello, have you already tried doing a reset? (!!!loss of data)
otherwise where is it connected? because certain power strips create electrical micro-cuts, so perhaps try another electrical outlet or directly without a power strip

Ok thank you for these solutions but I would like to point out that I have not changed anything in terms of wiring and connections for over a year… I will see in a few days with a reset 🙂 we will see
Thanks to you, but I think more of a firmware error… They would have made updates these days?

Hello Lukos70,

I have exactly the same symptoms as you, the router restarts randomly. I contacted Swisscom several times but no solution was really given to me except by a hard reset and always the same comment “your line works perfectly…”. Indeed the line can work perfectly but without a router I don’t see what I could do with it.

I’m really disappointed with Swisscom’s services, so maybe someone on the forum will have an idea.

When checking the firmware, I noticed that it was not the latest version, what version do you have?

Hello SJ,

Thank you for your message. Our customers can now benefit from the new firmware update 7.10.04 on Internet-Box plus and standard. The update will be carried out automatically only at the beginning of 2016, however you have the possibility to carry it out manually using the following link: [Software updates for your Internet-Box](https://www .swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/loesung/firmware-aktualisierungen-fuer-ihre-internet-box.html).

Cordialement,

Hello ZoéC,

Thank you for your prompt response. I was hesitant to install it, would this firmware correct this random reboot problem?

I was also thinking of going back to a previous firmware “Router_05.01.14” which was much more stable, what do you think?

Greetings

Hi everyone and thank you for these answers, I’m going to take care of it this evening 🙂 Note that apparently the reboots have visibly calmed down, I’m an Online gamer on Xbox One and I know immediately if the router reboots 🙂 so I’m going to check the firmware.
Thanks, I’ll keep you posted 😉

@SJ
Hello, I strongly advise you not to go back to a previous version (especially useless, because the router will update automatically the following evenings) and you should remember that if they do updates it is to correct bugs or flaws 😉
regarding the reboot it’s not necessarily linked to the firmware but if yours was not up to date it costs nothing to do the update.

@JQ89

Thank you very much for your response and I completely understand your advice. With a lot of experience I would say that I rarely prefer to do updates when I have a device that works well 🙂

This was actually my next question if Swisscom answered me, I don’t want these automatic updates, is it possible to deactivate them?

If the firmware is not responsible for the reboot who or what then? Because in one year I never have this problem suddenly… don’t tell me it’s my power strip or I don’t know what… I haven’t changed anything in one year so I only see one thing that can intervene there…the firmware or I buy an inverter…. 😉

@SJ no it doesn’t seem to me that it’s possible, but as I said it’s not the best for security.

@Lukos70 I’m ok that you haven’t changed anything, but being electro I can tell you that everything deteriorates over time 😞
and I don’t think it’s a software problem because there would be more than 3-5 people to whom this happens.

Greetings
