Good morning,

Since I made this subject, I have not come back because my router always reboots but in a “bearable” way, i.e. once a day. I ended up letting Swisscom customer service down since they couldn’t solve the problem (I’m not blaming them, I can understand that it’s complicated) and after all 1 reboot per day is not death even if it sometimes happens badly.

But today I’m on the 3rd reboot between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., so I came back to look here. So I’m going to try to disable IPv6 as FM33 suggests. It’s easy and costs nothing so you might as well give it a try.

Thanks for the tip in any case, I’ll come back and tell you it works for me. 🙂

Hello Tortue Ninchat, hello everyone.,

Yes, please tell us again your feedback after some testing time.

So a nice way to close “your” discussion thread yourself with the key to the solution in hand, hopefully 😉

Excellent evening to you and all of you.

Hello, it’s still too early to say if deactivating IPV6 solves the problem but for 2 days I haven’t had any reboots. This problem has been there for months but it is very random, sometimes several days without anything and others 3, 4, 5 times a day.

But for now it’s still a good sign. 🙂

Thanks again for this tip.

5 days without any reboot. 🙂

I don’t like to assert things but I think I can say that this IPv6 thing was indeed the cause of these reboots.

I’m happy to have a stable connection again. But it’s still pretty crazy to have such a simple solution on the internet when the various phone calls to Swisscom haven’t resolved anything.

Anyway, thank you again. 🙂

Great, glad to hear the problem seems to be resolved. In any case the symptoms were identical for me, and I haven’t had a reboot for 32 days and 6 hours now:smileyhappy:

Still faced with this problem of untimely reboot, after calling the hotline who asked me to do a complete reset of my router (with the paperclip in the small hole), everything worked fine for 12 days until yesterday at the beginning afternoon (4.10.2016) when my everything fell and re-initialized itself. Rebelotte in the evening 11:00 p.m. and 11:07 p.m. After reading the conclusions of FM33 (thanks to him) I noticed that IPv6 was activated on my router. I deactivated it, did a hard reset and restored the saved data, checked that IPv6 was still disabled and everything seemed to work again. I’m waiting to see how all this will behave over time. Hoping this is the right solution while waiting for firmware version 8.

Hello Everyone,

Like you, I have the problem of unwanted reboots of the Swisscom internet 2.0 box. I’ve had this problem since I got the new internet box and I’m wondering if I’m going to put the old one back in its place.

Note that this problem has been present for approximately 2 years, the date my installation was started when I moved into my apartment. So the firmware problem is quite doubtful because it should now be fixed (??).

I removed Wifi + IPV6 management and will see what happens.

Good day

Serge

Hello, I have never had such a stable connection in the 2 weeks since I disabled IPv6. I left everything else, wifi, different settings that I had made on the router, I had opened certain ports, in short, left everything except IPv6.

It’s night and day, I almost feel like I have a new connection. 😄

Could the solution be here? It’s been a month (32 days) since I disabled IPv6 and my installation became stable. No more untimely reboots of the internet box. Hoping that it continues like this and it will be very good. In the next release we dare to hope that this problem will be resolved. Knock on wood…

Good morning,

I’m in the same situation, unfortunately I don’t really hope to have a solution in the next release because it’s a problem that I’ve been reporting for a good 1-2 years at Swisscom and the investigation has never yielded anything although it is on their side.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed though.

Nicholas

The 08.00.50 / 08.00.40 update was done automatically 3 days ago for me. I directly reactivated IPv6 to see if the problem is resolved, and for the moment everything is perfectly stable. I’ll let you know in a few days:smileyhappy:

Hello,

Observation today following reading Tortue Ninchat my box was re-released I don’t know when, probably 2-3 days ago. The firmware version is: 08.00.50/08.00.58/01103.

I’m going to wait a little longer before reactivating IPv6 to see if everything works normally. But since I currently don’t use this form of addressing, I risk leaving it disabled.

Hello everyone,

So I can confirm that the latest firmware solved the problem for me. It’s been 28 days since I reactivated IPv6 and no reboot, the connection is perfectly stable.

That’s it, I’m very happy!:smileyhappy:
