Yes, it worked for a while. Yesterday June 19, 2015 and today June 20, 2015 I had emails again that were not forwarded by Bluewin. It’s just annoying when you can’t rely 100% on such services. To be honest, I find it very worrying when you are not able to solve such problems reliably.

Hello everyone

I’ve had the same problem since around the end of March 2015. The forwarding from the Bluewin address to the Outlook address. I have had contact with the hotline several times about this, always a different person. Then again the answer that the problem was solved.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Mostly x times during the day, absolutely no logic why. This week, Monday to Thursday, things worked better than they had in a long time. From Friday to Sunday, so to speak, not a single forwarding.

I’m glad to have at least read in the community that I’m not the only one. I’ll also refer you to this dialogue on the other “forwardings are lost” next time you call the hotline.

Greetings

Good evening, fellow sworns

I also confirm that the forwarding didn’t work at all on Thursday/Friday and only occasionally yesterday/today. Actually, Microsoft should show interest in the solution - my wife has already switched from Outlook to an alternative on her Windows Phone.

It’s a shame for what is actually an otherwise appealing product.

I hope it’s good!

Good morning

The forwarding worked again after the last complaint - it seems to be stuck again for the last 2-3 days. Please fix it quickly. I’m already considering giving up this old Bluewin address and switching directly to hotmail.com. It would involve some changes - but these technical problems would definitely be solved.

So thank you for your quick resolution of the problem.

I have the same problem

Redirect to outlook.com.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Lost some emails because I didn’t leave a copy in the mailbox.

I have now activated it again so that at least no more emails are lost.

I just tested it and it’s not working again at the moment.

Hello

Luckily I kept the copy in my inbox earlier, I’ve been monitoring the situation since the end of March, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, I don’t really know what to do anymore, tomorrow I’ll get a call from Swisscom, we’ll see

For the first time in a long time last week, Monday to Friday lunchtime, almost all of the emails were received, and from Friday evening to Sunday evening not a single email was forwarded

On the hotline the employees always talked about spam, I then explained the illogical situation, that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, and from the same senders, that can’t have anything to do with spam, I’ve already downloaded emails and sent, but every time it’s a huge procedure until the employees on the hotline even have an email address from swisscom

Let’s see if swisscom calls tomorrow and will let you know

lots of patience and greetings

Hello

Received a phone from support yesterday. The friendly gentleman will contact technology again. I also informed him about this community. I sent the emails from two examples from the same sender with and without forwarding as a.eml file.

Let’s see if I get an answer from technology and I’ll let you know then.

Kind regards

Hello everyone

We are processing your request and the problem has been temporarily resolved. Forwarding a Bluewin email to a Hotmail email address was sometimes not possible. Both manual and automatic redirects were affected - Microsoft blocked these.

During the security check, Microsoft’s algorithm did not recognize that it was a redirect. As a result, the email was classified as spam. The term “namespace mining” is common.

Our technicians are working on a solution. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you updated here.

Best regards

Good day. The forwarding to username@outlook.com no longer works for me either. This has happened before from time to time. Most of the time it worked again after I deactivated the forwarding and then set it up again. But today this is no longer of any use. I received the last email forwarded by Bluewin on June 26, 2015. So that I don’t lose any emails, I keep a copy with Bluewin, otherwise they will be lost and the sender of the email will receive an error message (incomprehensible to them) that the email to username@outlook.com could not be delivered.

I would be really happy if Swisscom could solve this problem within a useful Frist with Microosft. Otherwise I will have to close my Bluewin address and all accounts linked to it.

Hello moderator

It’s nice that at least someone is taking care of it now, well, it hasn’t been working for me for 3 months now. Just FYI, it’s absolutely not working for the last few days.

A lot of patience everyone and Swisscom/Microsoft will solve the problem at some point.

Nice evening

The automatic redirection from bleuwin.ch to outlook.com has not worked for me since the end of June 2015. Tedious!

Hello SamuelD (Moderator)

It’s great that someone at Swisscom is tackling the problem.

The fact that Microsoft is supposed to be the sole culprit irritates me: With both GMX and GMail, forwarding to Outlook.com works perfectly. They can do that.

good luck

Hello Samuel

Unfortunately, the problem not only affects forwarding to @hotmail.com or @outlook.com but also sending auto-replies when you are away. If someone from @hotmail.com or @outlook.com sends me an email to @bluewin.ch, he/she will not receive an auto-reply but I will receive an undeliverable message. If you need examples please let me know, I have some here.

Thank you and kind regards

I analyzed this a bit yesterday.

It looks like swisscom sends the forwardings via different servers than the normal email. The ones I found were all on Microsoft’s blacklist. I assume that too many spam emails were forwarded and Microsoft then blocked the IP addresses of the servers.

If that happens, there’s very little Swisscom can do other than kindly ask Microsoft to take it off the list again.

but now it looks as if Swisscom is sending the emails via a new server. In any case, my test emails are now arriving at hotmail. And the IP of the server has also changed from yesterday. Let’s hope that Microsoft doesn’t block this one too.

A little additional information for everyone who relies on such redirects:

Forwarding emails is always a pretty tricky thing, some mail servers don’t even accept this because the original sender is no longer correct and therefore it could be a phishing email… (keyword DMARC checks)

I recommend that everyone avoid general email forwarding. It is much better to use the Bluewin email account over the Microsoft account, for example. to be retrieved via pop3 (fetch mail). This means that all emails to Bluewin are also in the Microsoft account and the email does not have to be forwarded again.

All major mail providers support this function, including Microsoft with their hotmail and outlook services. On outlook.com you can set this up under “Options >Your email accounts > Add account for sending and receiving”. It’s like setting up the email in a mail client. and this works even if Microsoft blocks a server. I hope this helps one or the other

Hello everyone

Thanks for the last very interesting posts.

Yesterday I think it’s been about 2 weeks since I received any emails in Outlook via forwarding.

I’ll take a closer look at Actinium’s explanations in a free moment 🙂, very interesting explanations for me as a layman, thank you very much.

I gave up. With a heavy heart, I had my old Bluewin address disappear from my correspondence - and my Hotmail address widely used. After a few weeks, the last private and business partners will probably have changed my address. Then I’ll get rid of the still unresolved problem. It’s a shame - but there was simply no other way.

Hello actinium

I had Outlook set up by an IT specialist at the time. The primary alias is the Bluewin email address, which is also used when logging in to Outlook.com, where “send only” is visible, and the Outlook address is also set to send/receive

If I now add an account with send and receive, it brings me the bluewin as a suggestion with the incoming mail server pop.bluewin port 995 and outgoing server (send email via your provider’s server9 with smtpauth.bluewin port 587

I’m missing a bit of an overview, do I really have to add a new account or change the existing “primary alias” account, although I don’t even know where these settings can be accessed

Maybe you have a good tip for me, thank you

hello wedu,

I don’t know much about outlook.com either, but to set up the account with pop you have to add a new one:

If you only want to retrieve messages via POP3, you can also use “Send email via Outlook.com server”. However, I would take the server pop3s.bluewin.ch and activate SSL. For me it looks like this:

outlook.png

Afterwards you can choose whether all emails should be stored in the inbox, or a separate folder should be created for the Bluewin emails. Then it should actually work. Ah.. and if it works, of course turn off forwarding at bluewin.ch otherwise all emails will arrive twice. 😉

And if you don’t use Bluewin Webmail at all, I would uncheck “Leave a copy of my emails on the server” then the emails will be downloaded from the Bluewin server and deleted there too. Otherwise your mailbox will eventually fill up. Hope this helps.
