New Software for Box TV 2.0 (software version 1.18.10)

Dear members of our help forum,

Look forward to the new features of Swisscom TV 2.0. The next update for Swisscom TV 2.0 is ready and will be distributed in the coming days to all TV 2.0 clients. The update is numbered 1.18.10 (visible under Settings > System Information > Overview).

The following new features await you:

*Swisscom TV 2.0 light** Customers can now pause the current program (Live Pause). The new subscription for digital television neophytes is now included in the new basic offer from Swisscom Casa for CHF 39.50. The price includes Internet connection, telephone line and basic charges included.

Recording Live Sport Events is now also possible.

Volume control now works evenly across the entire regulation range. As a result, it is necessary to adjust the volume of the TV-Box louder than before (level 30-50).
Especially with sound via headphones, much finer volume adjustment is now possible.

For clients with multiple TV-Box and limited bandwidth, there are a number of improvements:

  • If due to limited bandwidth it is not possible to watch TV-Box in HD quality, SD channels will be automatically displayed in the list.
  • A TV-Box can be activated in permanent SD mode. This ensures that for example the secondary TV-Box always sends in SD and HD quality is reserved for the living room.
  • The TV signal from a TV-Box in operation can be taken over by another. For example, when TV-Box is launched in the living room, the signal can be taken from the children’s bedroom, so that HD is available again in the living room.

Finding content is now even easier. The search function has been improved with new filter options:

  • New filter tabs: All, TV, Replay, Videos and Cast & Crew
  • Via the Options button, it is possible to filter the search results by languages and times in addition to sorting them.

Channels & Subscriptions: Ordering and activating additional packages like Teleclub is now possible directly on the TV screen. You can find this option in Settings > TV Settings.

We wish you lots of fun with these new features.

Best regards from the Swisscom TV 2.0 team

I don’t like this Firmware at all, you have to turn the sound up to more than 30 to be able to listen to a broadcast correctly! If you make updates it is to improve not to disrupt what customers take a while to find!!!!!

Completely agree with you. In the long run it annoys these bugs and these changes!

Difficult to please everyone!:smileyhappy:

I prefer the new, more progressive sound setting.

What is the problem with raising the sound slider to 30 instead of 5 if the HP volume is the same at the end of the day?

Of course we can’t please everyone! but going from a setting of 2 to 30 or even 50 you call that progressive sound??????

Since we are dealing with the subtleties of vocabulary, I will say that the range of use of volume is wider…:smileywink:

Before, I could crank the setting up to 5 before my ears broke out. Now I can crank it up to 40.

Which makes 41 usable graduations instead of 6.

Yesterday morning, 3.12, what was my surprise, when I turned on my TV, to have almost no sound. I had to turn up the volume of the radio to maximum and also increase the volume of the box to 20-25 for it to be audible. Initially, I thought it was a problem directly linked to my TV set. So I tried the second post and found that the problem was similar. I called the Swisscom service where they carried out tests to come to the conclusion that perhaps the firmware was not correctly installed. I was told to wait a few days and call the service just in case.

Let the engineers install new features, I’m willing if it works. But I think that the consumer that I am, just like others, could have been warned of this type of modification and especially of disruptions, especially since the problem seems to be known.

Reading your lines, it would seem that this situation will remain as it is? At the technical service I called, we apparently don’t know if this is the case and if the engineers will remove this slight…defect. It would be nice for everyone if we were informed, not only of changes that add value, but also when technical problems are encountered. Technical service employees who must inform the public should be the first to have this information in order to be able to pass it on correctly.

I am delighted to read that the sound problems encountered over the past few days are ultimately not due to my TV.

Having to turn up the sound on the box is not really a problem in itself, as long as we are aware of the change made to the box…so I would have appreciated a little message when turning on my box, signaling that changes had been made.

On the other hand, since the update, I find myself listening to television with a sound that sorely lacks punch, even in montant noticeably the sound of the box and the speakers of my TV. But what’s even more annoying is that the sound is not constant. Without touching anything, the sound rises, falls, rises again… We listen for a few seconds, we normally hear a few seconds later, and so on. And this on ALL channels.

Am I the only one in this situation? I don’t think…

Could Swisscom quickly correct the problem please?

I will end by saying that other than that, your TV 2.0 system is top notch, especially compared to the competition.

Good morning,

Despite the installation of the new software, the problems with stuttering images and pixelation - especially when changing channels - persist. Any lasting solutions, apart from the inevitable restart of the router then the TV-Box?

Good evening,
I was also very surprised by the sound level and I also looked at my TV to find the reason for this problem.
So much the better if it’s “normal” since the new firmware was rolled out so quietly.
I would also have appreciated information via email for example.

On the other hand, I have a remark about the program search. We frequently watch programs in French, German or English. But for several days, in fact since the update, the search remains unsuccessful… Luckily this forum gives the solution: I can choose the language of the program to search for.
Good news, I told myself. But no, the search parameters are not memorized. Each time the search menu is opened, the language selected in the system returns by default. So isn’t the ‘All languages’ choice memorizable?

Come on! I will spend a few more hours in front of my TV enjoying the Replay function and the very good image quality, while waiting for the 1.18.11 update (and remember to make a little communication effort).

Greetings
Remy

It reassures me to know that others have the same problem of unstable volume. That the setting has to be changed doesn’t bother me much, as long as I know about it (this avoids unnecessary searches for problems on your TV). On the other hand, what should you do about these unpleasant volume variations?

Totally agree with you. It’s a shame. In addition, for me the sound disappears completely at times.
Indeed no information from swisscom as usual.
