You have set up a POP account and not an IMAP account!!
Set up the email account with the Apple Email Account Add new and you will find the correct password in your Kundencenter, it is not the same as the Swisscom Kundencenter password.

I also have the problem that, despite trying all the settings (setup wizard and manually), sending emails no longer works. Can you please post a screenshot of the SMTP server settings?
Receiving still works with the original settings.
How should the server, which is now apparently called “Swisscom Bluewin”, be set up? On the iPhone, for example, or on OS X Maverick, the server is still called “smtpauth.bluewin.ch”.
Thank you for the valuable contribution!

Where can I find the settings for the outgoing server? I only found the server for receiving emails.
Kind regards
With the link below you can set everything up automatically or manually!!

I can no longer send emails since the update to Yosemite. Since I’m usually more at home in the Windows world, I almost despair. Almost all of the tips listed here have not had the desired effect for me. I’m (still) afraid of the option “delete all accounts” according to tip no. 10, because a window tells me that “the mailboxes and all e-mails will be permanently deleted from your computer”. It’s a POP account and I don’t want to lose my emails.
What else can I do?

What kind of Apple, an iMac or a Macbook do you have?
Are the emails still available on the Bluewin email server?

It’s an iMac; There are only about a dozen emails on the Buewin server (webmail). I have had the same Bluewin address for about 20 years and have always downloaded emails via POP.
It should be possible to back up the email folder on the iMac separately.

Export mailbox to a folder.

So, I “cleaned out” the emails and backed up the really important ones (exported my mailbox). Then deleted the only existing account and created a new one. Interestingly, the process is not identical to the solution/post number 10 or with the Swisscom instructions for manual installation. I now have IMAP instead of POP3 and suddenly all emails from webmail on the Mac. But when I try to send emails I still get the same error message. It’s unbearable, a simple update paralyzes half of my email and despite the time it takes, it no longer works as before… does anyone have any advice?
Oh yes, one more thing: In the account information under “SMTP server” there were still 2 to choose from: First name.last name (buewin.ch) (offline)" and “SMTP (offline)”, although I didn’t see anything new entered or no input was requested during the new creation. Will old settings data be retrieved somewhere despite deleting the account?
