I’ve also been having this problem for 4 weeks

“The IMAP server has terminated the connection. The connection may have been idle for too long.”

disconnecting
Protocol: IMAP
Server: imap.bluewin.ch
Anschluss: 143
Error code: 0×800CCCDD

After several attempts to reconnect my email to Outlook, I contacted Swisscom. The only answer I got from the nice lady in the call center was that the problem wasn’t theirs and that she would be happy to call me the chargeable number 30 Fr./15 min. can connect, I might be able to get help there.

I think that’s a disgrace and not particularly customer-friendly. Can someone help me with how I can get this under control?

Hello

I have the same problem!

I had to restart my PC last week.

For this I got the latest Win7 Pro64bit with SP1.

After putting the antivirus Kapersky Internet Security 2013 into operation and all available Windows updates, I wanted to integrate my bluewin account into Miicrosoft Outlook 201064bit.

Without success. After trying with the online installation program from Swisscom, Outlook was completely scratched!!!!

After starting, the crash message appeared immediately and the program was closed. After uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Office package, the same problem still occurred.

I then removed all Outlook files. However, still without success.

Now I had to reload the entire Windows. Luckily I had a picture of it.

The manual configuration still fails and I will definitely not use the automatic program anymore!!!

Increasing the server time didn’t help either.

Greetings O_v_i

That doesn’t help either.

The question is always what is set up on the Exchange Server and what kind of clients are allowed to connect to it.

I strongly assume that 64 bits are not permitted.
However, Outlook would still have to at least start because a local (.pst) file is created or exists.
And if it doesn’t exist or has problems, then Outlook cannot be started on a computer.
This is also the case when using IMAP.
The local (.pst) is only not needed when setting up an Exchange account.

I just had problems connecting to IMAP again, although it worked otherwise all evening.

But since I had interruptions in the connection due to restarts of the router, but Outlook was still open, it probably destroyed my PST file, which it created.

The reason I came up with this is because I googled the error code and found an entry that said that you should repair the PST file with SCANPST.EXE.

This file is included in Office and can be found under the Office installation path.
For example: Program Files (x86)\icrosoft Office\ffice14

After I had the PST file repaired with SCANPST.EXE, even though the tool had told me that it didn’t have any serious consistency errors, the connection to the IMAP server worked again without any problems.

So please give it a try for people who have problems. 😉
