Hello everyone.
I would like to know what options there are for me to get an internet connection at the following address. I don’t live there, but I need to know because there may be a move there and I want to make sure beforehand.
Hegstenstrasse (no house number)
8192 Glattfelden ZH
The local network operator (LKW) cannot offer an internet connection at this address (basically the only place in Glattfelden where this is not possible), Swisscom only has a bandwidth of 600Kbit/s, so I’m actually faster if I make smoke signals. And Cablecom can’t or won’t help me, they refer me to truck even though I made it clear to them that truck can’t offer me anything either.
I found out from the Swisscom hotline that a network expansion would take place in September, but I wasn’t given any exact details.
I’m rather skeptical about satellite internet because it’s expensive and not really fast.
The option of using a USB modem via the mobile network is also out of the question, as there is hardly any signal at the address mentioned.
Does anyone know an option for me?
Thanks and greetings
VDSL will be expanded in Glattfelden this year. But if you are in the only house on the Hegstenstrasse([http://maps.google.ch/maps?q=Hegstenstrasse+glattfelden&hl=de&ll=47.5 43287,8.500553&spn=0.002303,0.004474&sll=46.362093,9.036255&sspn=4.822069,9.162598&t= h&z=18](http://maps.google.ch/maps?q=Hegstenstrasse+glattfelden&hl=de&ll=47.543287,8. 500553&spn=0.002303,0.004474&sll=46.362093,9.036255&sspn=4.822069,9.162598&t=h&z=18)) If you come to live there, then I still see it as rather bleak for you.

No, there is. It’s in the middle of nowhere, which means you have to pay for your fiber optic cable yourself.
But you have SC UMTS coverage there. possibly with an external directional antenna also HSPA.
The address is not wrong, you recognized that correctly. It is being clarified whether I can move into this house, but for me the internet connection would be a knockout criterion. And as you say, the VDSL expansion in Glattfelden doesn’t help me either. Theoretically, a Anschluss would be possible, but only 600 Kbit/s and with the current 20 Mbit/s that would be more than just a step backwards, I don’t want to put myself through that.
As for the UMTS variant…
As already mentioned, there is practically no cell phone reception there. Usually no network or then a signal bar on the iPhone. That’s why I can’t imagine that this would really provide enough performance.

Hello everyone.
It’s me again.
I’m still figuring out what options there are. However, I keep coming across contradictions.
Sunrise offers a maximum speed of 4000 Kbit/s at the address in question (5000 subscription), Orange offers me 5000 Kbit/s, which corresponds to the full performance of the ADSL5000 package.
What makes me suspicious now is that the Orange hotline told me that all internet providers implement their offers via the Swisscom network, but Sunrise told me that it has its own network and can therefore offer 4000Kbit/s.
When the Orange Hotline asked why Orange could offer 5000KBit/s and Swisscom only 600KBit/s, even though it apparently runs over the same network, the lady didn’t have an answer.
Who can enlighten me?
… There’s no point in guessing anyway.
But just briefly entered the address into Google Maps and… .
hey, who lays a line in the middle of the forest for a single Anschluss?
Maybe you’ll embarrass some hotline lady if you make a lot of phone calls, but you certainly won’t get a fast internet connection.
Connections have to be profitable otherwise they are unlikely to be installed. No provider will give you a Anschluss. If that really is a KO criterion that you get a Anschluss, the decision has been made.
PS: Satellite isn’t as expensive as it used to be.
