As far as I know, Swisscom checks the cell phone model when the page is accessed and issues this error message if the cell phone is incompatible and therefore “not approved”.

Since we are currently trying to use another player, I suspect that the problem is in the currently installed player. This is part of the cell phone, but is not a direct part of the operating system (can be replaced).

Because you can change the user agent string pretty easily: about:debug in the bar at the top and then set UAString to Nexus One under Settings. I’m definitely getting further on the mobile website than before. (I can select channels etc., but then I have to log in) but I don’t have a subscription to test whether streaming works

This is a CUSTOMERS helping CUSTOMERS forum.

If you want a reaction from Swisscom, contact Swisscom.

@Warren:

But I can’t imagine that this forum will NEVER be visited by a Swisscom technician. Also to check whether completely wrong solutions to a problem are being posted = damage reduction. It is certainly also in the interests of Swisscom.

And: A “previous speaker” had already escalated this problem to support in March 2011. So this problem is very well known!

I didn’t say that it would never be read by Swisscom, but it should still be in your interest that it can be solved constructively, and that’s why don’t expect a reaction from Swisscom in a customer help customer forum.

I didn’t say it wasn’t known either.

But on the one hand the priority will probably increase the more people get in touch and on the other hand there may now be more information on the hotline…

TV Air now runs on my Nexus S. Easily via the browser. Using the TV Air app I get a blue screen and the error message or the message that I should install Adobe Flash Player. I uninstalled the app and re-downloaded it. No effect.

I received the following response:

For technical reasons, Swisscom TV air is currently not available via the Swisscom TV air app on the Samsung Nexus S and HTC Sensation XL devices. Swisscom regrets this and is working hard to find a solution.

And a solution is on the horizon soon.

Hey Zämä!

Is it still current that it doesn’t work on Htc Sensation?

I tried it on a total of 3 devices. On 2 it doesn’t work, on one everything is OK.

Greetings!

The APP on Androis is just a link!! (for those who haven’t noticed yet):smileyvery-happy:

If you use the preinstalled browser there is a greater chance that it will work.

This is how it is on my HTC Desire HD.

TVAir only runs with poor resolution on my Medion P9516 tab.

That depends on the device. Depending on what it can play, you will get a different stream. The worst is definitely RTSP (via browser). But if you are lucky enough (or have the right device) to get an HLS stream, then things look completely different (e.g. the Nexus S gets an HLS stream, the Nexus One only gets an RTSP stream

However, the whole thing does not solve the general problem and omission with TVAir.

There’s still a lot that needs to be worked through.
