TV Air app for Android does not work with Nexus S

The new TVAir app for Android doesn’t run on my Nexus S. I can log in and select the channels, but I can’t play the video stream. “Cannot play video”. I assume that a device ID is also sent in the request, but it is not yet supported and is therefore released, or is it something else (possibly the internal media player)?

In any case, it doesn’t work via WLAN or 3G.

Thanks for the feedback.

Try changing the user agent of the cell phone so that you can e.g. as HTC. As far as I know, a list is kept of which cell phones are tested and therefore operated.

Hello micro I have the same problem with my Nexus S. However, after starting my app I receive the following error message: This service is not supported by your mobile phone. Your cell phone may not support continuous data transmission (so-called “streaming”). How can I change the user agent on the Nexus S? I’m an Android newbie. Thank you very much for your help. Greetings, faese

Hello akai

How can I root my Nexus S? I have to admit that I am a very new Androidian. I switched from the iPhone 4. And what do you mean by flashing Cyanogenmod?

Thank you for an answer and greetings,

faese

The user agent (Android, Frojo, IE6, Linux etc.) is not the problem in itself. My N1 can also display Flash streams, only SC TVAir has been blocking it since day one. But I never bothered to escalate it to the hotline. Because there are alternative TV streams via WIFI that run perfectly in an app or in the native browser. At least the picture starts sooner. OK. without a sound, but at least a reaction. Now it’s definitely over via WIFI for yesterday’s test.

I have just received a call from a Swisscom technician. He told me that Swisscom TV air will not run on the Nexus S until further notice. Tests had shown that the TV on the Nexus S devices would only run with inadequate quality because the streaming values were too poor. 😞

Today, before I read your interesting posts, I was in the Swisscom shop… the guy wanted me to bring over the receipt so he could give me a new Nexus S…

It’s a shame, let’s wait and see what happens next (or not…)

Compassionate. Tv air doesn’t work on all Androids. The speed is not the problem. With the iPhone it works wonderfully via WiFi. Swisscom simply hasn’t had a solution for over a year. Maybe you should think about replacing the streaming app. This simply cuts off the existing connection (e.g. WiFi). So everyone calls Swisscom every day, then the bug makes it onto the best list and is fixed.

TVair runs smoothly on my HTC DEsire… Not with the same quality as on the Eifon, but it runs…

Where can you find the TV air application in the Android Market?

When I search in the market under “TV air”, “TVair”, “Swisscom”, “Swisscom TV”, “Swisscom TVair”, “Swisscom TV air” or just “Swisscom”, I find nothing at all.

Here is the link to the market with “TV air” request: [https://market.android.com/search?q=tv+air&so=1&c=apps](https://market.android.com/search?q= tv+air&so=1&c=apps)

Something else I should mention. I already had the TV air application on my Nexus S and uninstalled it again because it didn’t work (yet)…. But apparently it can’t be found anymore?

Google has apparently removed the app from the store. The Swisscom hotline also confirms this. However, it cannot yet be said whether and when the app will be available again.

I’ve also had the Nexus for about 10 days and find it frustrating that TV Air doesn’t work on this device. Likewise, it looks like Swisscom can’t do anything either. Or want? I had no problems on the “old” Samsung Jet 8000.

It would also be interesting for a layperson to know why it works on a normal cell phone like the S8000 and why Android and/or iPhones require an app. Does anyone know that?

What I didn’t understand (yet): is it because the app is missing? At the Nexus? Or the operating system? If it’s the operating system, then other cell phones would also be affected?
