Apologies again for the English. Since this is so widespread, so specific, so serious, and so reproducible, I wrote directly to Tim Cook, Apple CEO about it. I got a call back today from one of their European heads that the Maps team has reached out to Swisscom to resolve it and hope to have a fix in the next point release of iOS if that is what is required. I don’t know if that’s good news or bad, but it is news. (It’s now been 8 days, 7 hours, and about 18 minutes since it stopped working for me.) It makes no sense to me that this is a OS issue since there was no OS update when it stopped working suddenly (as I was driving to the Dublin Airport roaming on my Swisscom SIM.) But at least it seems to be taken seriously by someone.
Apologies for English, but I also have had this problem since Tuesday morning (10.10) but wasn’t even in Switzerland at the time. I was trying to navigate to the airport in Dublin, Ireland using EU roaming. But it hasn’t worked since, even back here in Switzerland. It seems like just having a Swisscom SIM no matter if you’re roaming on another network is enough to cause the problem.
