Dear all and Happy New Year We (me and my family) have had vDSL with Centro Grande (Infinity 20 Mbps) for about 1 year and it worked flawless until just after midnight 01.01.2013 Since then we have big stability problems. Thanks for your suggestions to fix this Per HAGEN A few times per day the router starts to restart / reboot itself. When times happens, it restarts itself every 1 to 5 minutes. This goes on for up to an hour and then we again have a stable vDSL connection for a few more hours. Since the syslog is the router is reset when this happens it is hard to know why the router should have such an extreme beahvior. The only systematic issue in the syslog recorded in the syslog is that the uPnP (universal Plug and Play) feature used by the PS3 no longer works (confirmed by my son who wanted play yesterday). Error getting (mgmt.upnp.enable) - Connection timed out After the restart i also see this in the syslog Post Inform - reason 1 BOOT 4 VALUE CHANGE Maybe the message is an explanation for the reboot ? I am now using a plain Ethernet cable to make sure WiFi is not part of the problem (classical issue for 1st level support as WiFi technology maturity compared to portable phones is like comparing T-Ford to a modern car) Yesterday I unplugged phones / fax from the line and replugged analog passive filter and cables and power supply to the router I found this pathology from a single 2 hours test: If the vDSL line is unplugged, the router does not restart (stable conditions), even if the WiFi is running When the phone line is plugged back again, the ususal restart unstability comes back rather quickly My speculations: If the there is hardware issue in the router, like a faulty memory chip, I would expect a different stability pattern (not long interval with stability and short time with unstability) so my preliminary assumption is that the problem strongly depends upon something happening on the phone line. But then again, when phone line is disconnected, not too much data activity inside router ... The error source must be rare (tales of the unexpected) since the error is not logged in the router syslog This are the vDSL QoS data I have for the line (same numbers each time I check): Transmission speed Upstream 11012 kbps Downstream 36360 kbps Line attenuation Upstream 20.8 dB Downstream 24.3 dB Signal-to-noise ratio Upstream 12.4 dB Downstream 18.1 dB When the line is stable, I see no packet errors WLAN Sent data 2059104 Packets 2740433247 Bytes Received data 1051117 Packets 179250766 Bytes Receive errors 0 Packets 0 Bytes Receive drops 332835 Packets 40406707 Bytes Router info: Technical Readout 01.
