So... let's look at this. Can you insert an image inside a text? Yes, you can!
You just have to copy the image, not as file but with a right click on a new tab or something.
Now, does this mean we are all happy and can mark this here as solved?:D
!!!!!!ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!
While on the Swiscom Mail Editor it may shows you an image, do you know what happens when you send the mail to a Gmail?
No? No worries, let me tell you. THE IMAGE IS NOT THERE... ah yeah, the image is not there, very exquisite or not?
But why? Well, basically because it's a bit... well... stupid.
The copy pasted image in Swisscom Mail, is a Base64 encoded value. Which doesn't seem to get processed any further, except that others in Swisscom Mail can see it, but that is useless if the rest sees absolutely nothing.
The Gmail receives
<img alt>
nothing more
btw. the HTML preview in this editor looks different comparing to when it gets posted here.
In short, the attachments in-text at the Swiscom Mail are misleading and giving the user wrong hopes, because nobody will see an image.
They're broken.. well, basically it's garbage, very garbage, it needs to be fixed, in my opinion really fast, because of the issues it causes.
Don't get me wrong here, but the image uploading here and in-text inserting is even better, with whatever the E-Mail offers. In fact, it turns it into a "Blob" a Binary Large Object, even on Gmail.
So, now that I said this all. I guess it can be fixed now.
Since this post is years old, it would be interesting to hear from a developer that works on the mail, why the Base64 attached images and direct Swiscom download URI vanished, when sending it somewhere else like Gmail. Some might be curious.
And we deserve an answer, because the Moderator was misleading and stupid, to mark his answer as helpful while it's basically trash. All they did is read one word from this thread and say that the mails are fine, while nobody even asked. That is really stupid, it's personal attacking this forum, please stop, thank you.
If someone says, that the image in-text embed works fine.. then you are trolling and you should stop as well, thank you.
Thank you for reading this message.
Forward this issue to a developer please.
