Hey, everybody, did anyone get the same security notice? With the latest update from Apple, OSX Catalina is able to recognize Keylogger, the Swisscom MyCloud application, at startup requires a permission: MyCloud Desktop, would like to receive keypress input from any application.

Does it seem normal to you?

Hello H@cKMur4Z

We checked this topic and found out the reason.
Unfortunately the framework we use for the myCloud has an issue with the permission check of the new Mac OS Catalina.
This means that every application, not only myCloud Desktop, is facing this permission check.
So the change of this behaviour is not in our hands, we rely here on the Framework provider to resolve this.

We know this is not the best experience and are sorry for the inconvenience this might cause,
but cannot really change this at the moment. As soon as there is a change, we will inform again.

Best regards
Mario

What I know is that they have been a lot of changes regarding security in MacOs catalina.

To your question: no and I don't have a clue why. Perhaps somebody from the Swisscom MyCloud Team could answer this?

Hello H@cKMur4Z

Thanks for your post.
From our side we do not need and want to receive keypress input, but it seems that with the new Mac OS Catalina
Apple invented a more granular way of checking integrations into respective extensions and permission setting to the OS.
We are currently checking why this is  happening and how we can change the implementation / approach to avoid
and bypass this permission request as it should not be needed.
For the time being  we can only ask you to accept this / grant permission, we will provide an update as soon as possible.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.

Best regards
Mario
