….so……whole route…..TOP 4G reception….no more dropouts. So if you can and want to, put iOs 12.1 Beta 3 on it and you’re good. It’s just a shame that you have to figure it out with the help of private people…. 😉

Hello.

I too am affected by the same problem. My iPhone X keeps losing 4G network and even general network. After 5 - 10 seconds it comes back. It’s not Swisscom’s fault - I received a new SIM card, they took me off the network and put me back on the network - my iPhone was replaced in the Apple Store - after a successful update to iOS 12 the same problems again. Swisscom is apparently already in contact with Apple, as well over 1,000 customers are affected. I just installed the iOS update 12.0.1 and hope that the problem is solved - let’s see.

….it will almost certainly NOT be fixed with 12.01….that was the case for me….I also have an If you don’t want to use beta, you will have to wait for the official 12.1…

It actually seems to be related to the modem firmware and the carrier bundle for Swisscom. So it’s an Apple software problem… there’s little Swisscom can do about it…

  • Doc likes that.

I also had problems with my iPhone

This has never improved, not even with the final version of iOS12.

Strangely and fortunately, I never had any problems after switching to the Xs Max, even though I skipped Beta1 of 12.1.

Now DevBeta 3 is on it and I still have no problems.

You probably already know this, but no reputable helpdesk will (or may) recommend a beta version as a solution. This is also critical, for example, for legal reasons (liability).

For example, the use of beta software on company devices is prohibited in most cases for security reasons.

The helpdesk will only recommend 12.1 once it has been released and the relevant bugs have been officially declared as fixed by the manufacturer in the release notes.

Only the newer models with an Intel modem are affected. When I brought my 8+ in for replacement, I was traveling with the SE which has a Qualcomm modem. Ran like clockwork.

For me, these problems started with Beta 4 of iOS 12. In this version, Apple has released a new modem firmware for the iPhone 8+. I reported the bug again and again with the following beta versions, but unfortunately there are many beta users who only install the software and don’t report any bugs. Apple therefore gives this issue a correspondingly low priority or even ignores it.

Either go back to iOS 11, install beta 12.1 or just wait and turn off 4G!

Iphone 8 with iOS 12.1 also has network problems, I’m constantly searching for the network and the battery is discharged more quickly…

I have an iPhone 8Plus with the latest 12.1 and still have problems with the network. Apple doesn’t know anything, Swisscom says they’re in it with Apple.

But if I’m logged into a network other than Swisscom, I don’t have these problems.

So I’ve had the same problem with my iPhone X since updating to iOS 12. The reception (usually 4G) suddenly stops and my iPhone then searches for reception for about 10s. Sometimes this is repeated up to three times in a row. I’m outside in places with good reception, e.g. in Aarau, and not moving.

The update to iOS 12.0.1 didn’t help. It must be something with Swisscom because my brothers, who are at Salt, don’t have this problem.

Even with 12.1 the problems are there. Apple itself denies these problems. Swisscom is pushing it onto iOS. They don’t say when the problem will be fixed. Living with these problems until then is not an option.
