Optical sound output volume control

Would you know if there is a way to control the volume of the audio on the optical output?

I have swisscom Box, now connected to my HiFi with optical cable. Super sound quality.

But I can't control the volume with the Box RC. i can only control on the HiFi, which is annoying as I need two remote controls .

thx!

@Ston

if mini Toslink cable with optical plug between TV-Box and Hi-Fi system

set the sound volume to zero on the TV

- set the sound volume on the Hi-Fi system (approximately at 50%)

- use only the Swisscom remote control to vary the volume

thx for your return.

(and sorry for the delay)

I can't seem to be able to adjust the volume when connected directly to the box optical output.

i actually gave up, and connect with a normal audio cable out of the TV . basic works ....

Hi. I have the Swisscom Box (NOT the 21 type) connected to the TV via HDMI and via Toslink to a DENON CEOL N11DAB system. The volume output of the Swisscom Box is clearly much too low as I need it at nearly the maximum and that of the DENON at 70% to have 'normal' sound level. This means that if I switch the DENON from the optical input to its internal radio the sound is so high that my neighbours complain the next morning... Why can't we change the Swisscom Box optical sound level via a dedicated parameter ?
