Samsung Galaxy S I9000 upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo for Swisscom

When will the upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S I9000 to android 2.2 froyo be available?

I tried to update using "Kies" but it still shows 2.1 as most latest version.

Any pointers/help? I have seen some messages on the forum in Deutsch but not able to understand a word.

Here are some informations:

The update android 2.2 fos Samsung Galaxy S over Kies is not available anymore at Swisscom as many problems occured.

The Update affected the battery performance and the general device performance.

You have the following opportunities:

- Factory reset: This will not solve all problemb but will help to improve the performance. (Attention: all date will be deleted)

- Wait until the second half of january, there should be a new software available that solves the problems.

A factory reset can help you improving the performance if you have already done the upgrade on Froyo. Yes, with the new Release (should be released in february concerning to Samsung) Froyo will be available on Samsung Kies for swisscom customers.

It is already February and the Froyo is still not available in Kies. Do we have some confirmed date for upgrade?

Will this update be for Android 2.2 or Android 2.2.1?

The non branded Samsung Galaxy has 2.2.1 already for more than 2 months, why do Swisscom customers have to wait for so long?

Hi has there been any revised date for the roll out of Android 2.2 Froyo as I have been following other updates that have stated that the roll out is February. We will be midway through the month by the end of this week and I was hoping I could get my Samsung galaxy s working to full potential soon. I purchased mine sim free from the Swisscom store last month so I curious as to why it came with 2.1 installed.

Its already second half of February, I guess we should directly get Android 2.3 for waiting such a long time.

Where can I directly download the new official image?

I just lerned that it is possible to flash Samsung phones for people past the Windows age, and for those stuck on Windows who dislike keys:

The official Swisscom version is only updatable via Kies. Unfortunately, Keis is only available for Windows. I'd suggest to get some friend's help to update your Galaxy S.

Rest I'll leave to Swisscom Support team, if they have any alternate solution. I'd suggest to create separate thread for updates for Non-Windows users.
