Hello!
I have a problem with "hairpinning" with my Swisscom InternetBox.
It used to work sometime last week but then it stopped.
Here is what happens:
- LAN IP address: works
- Public IP address from outside the network: works
- Public IP address from inside the network: ERROR
This is usually a problem with hairpinning from the router side and it seems that a new version of the firmware might have been released.
Is there any way for me to either get a version where this still works or to fix it?
Thanks!
Hi,
Works for me just like usual.
Have you contacted The Servicedesk already?
Have you checked your configuration or did you activated DMZ or Spanning Tree? Maybe it will solve your problems...
Greetings,
Dominik
DMZ and Spanning Tree are not enabled.
Only thing that I tried to enable was the DyDNS `xxxx.internet-box.ch` but that is not solving anything.
I tried reinstalling the FW and nothing changed. What else could I try?
P.S. can you try with a port which is not 80?
Also other Ports working for me, also notspecified Ports. Tested it with custom Port 85 for Cloud-Service and 32400 for Plex.
Can you try to reenable DMZ and Spanning Tree?
Otherwise i would suggest you to create a Backup and reset your Internet-Box. Try it again with just one Port e.g. 32400 or 90 and 80...
Greetings,
Dominik
I have just reset the box to factory settings and restoring the save cfg. Let's see.
I will then try to enable/disable the DMZ and TSP.
Otherwise, is there a way to install the previous FWs?
Ok, nothing changed... What next?
I really think it's firmware related at this point.
I have found a Beta Version of the Internet-Box Firmware. I dont really know how it will work and if its better, but to get another Firmware you can try this oder contact the Service Desk at 0800 800 800 - maybe they can install you an older version.
Beta Version: https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/internet/firmware-aktualisierungen-fuer-ihre-internet-...
Greetings,
Dominik
It says "wrong firmware file", I guess it doesn't work 😕
Then, i would suggest you to Contact Hotline at 0800800800 and ask for help. If the 'first responder' couldnt help, ask for 2nd Level Support - they should solve it for you.
Very sorry, that the Restoring Process and the Beta didnt worked for you.
Hope, youll have a good solution soon.
Greetings,
Dominik
Hi Xander,
It worked for Years. But since about a week i got the exact same problem. Did you find a solution ?
Cheers
EDIT: There are other threads on this issue.
(TLDR: We have to wait for next Firmware Release. Workaround: Own DNS Server. I don't like this workaround but it works perfect here.)
@DrFurunkel my workaround is MUCH easier than running your own DNS server: I use the DynDNS service and add that + local ip address in my `hosts` file. Done 😉
It works only locally but at least it works for now!
Hi all,
i have heard, that they want to release the new Firmware very soon - so you shouldnt wait too long...
Greetings
@Xander Are you serious? Editing HOSTS.txt on every! client including Android/iOS is definitly not a solution. And you have to revert this in case you leave the house with Mobiles/Laptop.
@DrFurunkel he did this action only so that he can use his normal systems until the bug was fixed. It is not a persistent solution.
My Internet Box 2 was updated to the new firmware version 10.04.02/10.04.00 on november 15. Up to now the IB2 runs perfectly.
It seems that only the IBP and the IBS are affected by this bug. It could be that there is a solution available soon. Do not know yet if we will rollout the new firmware or if we share it only on our homepage.
@antric Some customers have got a 10.4 Build. It is nearly the same as 10.3.36 but with a few adjustments. It's a mistake but because the build is as stable as 10.3 we do not downgrade theses boxes.
