As far as I know the best solution will be to have the IB2 as the one and only router in your Network.
That means all apple network gear have to put in the bridge mode. (then they act only as Access-Points for the WIFI and to have more than one Access-Point is no problem at all)
This will result in one transparent home network whitout the risk of any IP Collisions.
A small test could show you the result of this idea.
I operate the first Airport extreme as a wireless router (DHCP), with some
things attached through the ethernet ports (Sonos base station) I also have a second airport extreme (bridge mode) in the basement where the AppleTV is located.
I have changed the settings on the IB2 box In "IP Settings", (in "expert" mode ) I activated DHCP and gave the AE base station a static address (2 digits higher than the swisscom TV box).(image below) Then on the AE base station I also engaged DHCP, but with the 10.0.1.0 starting address. (image below) It is working but I get a "double NAT" warning on the AE base station. which is logical.(see images below)
I have ordered a technician because I want to get to the bottom of this problem. I will try to post the outcome and final settings on the forum, if he can do a better job.
In the second part of your answer you talk about operating the AE in bridge mode. I already have an AE in the basement, connected to the main AE router by ethernet. It is also in "bridge" mode. Can you operate two AE in the same network in bridge mode?
So if I understand correctly, I should let the Swisscom router do the DHCP, and set the Apple WLAN router to bridge mode?

I have tested this and so far it works!
I had read about this somewhere but couldn't believe it could be so easy. Especially since Swisscom Service told me I had to input the IP address of the Airport (couldn't find that)
For anyone reading or searching - this is what you do.
Put the Apple Airport Extreme in Bridge mode - that's it.
On the IB2 side, be sure Wifi is turned off, but allow it to assign addresses. In my case I removed the static address I had assigned to the Airport base station. (see images in post from earlier)
Restart everything.

again and again - recommended here in the community 😉
Sometime the easy way is the best solution.
... and by the way: Don't trust the swisscom hotline especially in "Not-Swisscom-products for Dummies"...
Satisfy I could help you.

Most of the time rocks the easy way 😉
keep it simple ....
Sorry Pogo - I searched but apparently my parameters were bad!
If I have a second Airport Extreme access point (bridge mode) connected to the first Airport Extreme access point (also bridge mode), do I have to assign the second access point a separate static address?

Meinst Du die zweite Airport als Repeater, also ohne LAN Verbindung ?

Yes, thats the challenge - to find the right search parameters....next time, try Googe search...
Thanks!
The second Airport Extreme is connected to the first by ethernet cable (see the installation config at top of post)

Need the translation of "Google" !

The network is stable if one gives static IP addresses outside the IP range of the internet box.
Such static addresses are mainly used for fixed computers, printers, servers.
Not for notebook which change the place.
