Oh soooo, good luck finding something here 😁

@TomatoTec: I don’t know of any map that shows who has their antennas where, or where there are common ones. OFCOM’s card is official. I think that every provider has their internal map, which they don’t necessarily want to make public, otherwise it would show their gaps.

According to the trade magazine chip.de, there is a web app or whatever you want to call it.

Now the page is judged by browsers to be unsafe. (Other security protocol)

You still have to figure out how to change the security settings so you can still access the site. Will try despite warning. I’m not that afraid and I trust chip.de. I can also get my computer running again if I catch something ā€œbadā€.

At least in the canton of Lucerne there is such a map https://www.geo.lu.ch/map/mobilfunk/

On the map you can see different colored dots, depending on the technology (similar to that of Bakom). If you click on one of these dots, you will then see which provider is transmitting there, including the station code. This map should exist for the whole of Switzerland, it would still be interesting.

In France there are also such maps where you can see who is broadcasting there for each location (e.g. Orange F, SRF, Bouygues or Free, and often several or all from the same location).

On the Lucerne map you can see if a location is used by several network operators. I think it’s roughly similar across Switzerland: in urban areas, one network operator usually runs ā€œitsā€ location alone. The more rural you are, the more there is only one location in an area, which is often used by 2 or all 3 Swiss network operators (i.e. Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt). Then Swisscom usually has 1-2 locations in this area that are exclusive to Swisscom.

On the ā€œnewā€ BAKOM radio transmitter card:

After clicking or tapping on the desired mobile phone antenna (purple dot), the desired information about the operator of this mobile phone antenna can be seen.

@GrandDixence

Thanks for the great information!

I’ve already noticed that the new card has been activated.

That’s a reason to celebrate that every provider is now visible, even the adaptive operation of a 5G antenna is now specified.

This has taken a long time, as far as I know it has been like this in the distant past.

Now you no longer have to research a mobile phone antenna for a local provider.

The only question is how long Bakom will continue this before a provider starts to complain, let’s hope not šŸ™‚!

I also think the map is great and clarifies a lot!

Then I at least know why I can’t even make proper calls with the shop’s Sunrise cell phone in places where my private Swisscom cell phone works perfectly.
