https:// for the router domain

1 of 3

It would be very helpful if router makers finally adopted the https:// protocol to secure the router's domain, instead of the non secure http://

http://192.etc.

Will Swisscom implement https:// for its routers domain?

Hello,

According to the developers, they already discussed this topic and this could be a feature in the future. However, the implementation is pretty complex and the only access is in the LAN which should be considered safe.

I've also addressed that.

I guess deploying certificate and than having to renew them on each router is not an easy task.

Perhaps not nice, but it's not a very high security question.
