  • Hello, is it possible that Swisscom gives out my cell phone number? I’m being harassed by a company: The company is called Equiity, it’s supposed to be a company that works for Swisscom: It’s supposed to invest money, that’s definitely exactly what I was waiting for. Why does Swisscom sell numbers!? I’m stinking mad! Do not accept calls from this number. Greetings Küri

Swisscom itself does not sell numbers. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about spam like this other than blocking the number. It is also important that you have the spam filter turned on in the cockpit? Dubious providers often get hold of the phone numbers because users themselves have entered them on dubious sites or in scams/fake emails. The fraudsters sometimes sell and buy addresses and telephone numbers themselves on the Darknet, but not Swisscom. If the same phone number keeps harassing you, block that number. This company doesn’t seem serious to me at all, especially should you invest money somewhere? Whoever believes it? Hands off.

    Hi @Küri

The company is called Equiity, which is supposed to be a company that works for Swisscom:

I’ve never heard of this company and Google doesn’t know about it either - pretty sure it’s a scam.

Phone numbers can be generated/guessed fairly easily. In addition, the data can come from anywhere - it can also be a competition that you filled out x years ago. I wouldn’t assume that Swisscom will resell numbers.

If it doesn’t stop, you can block the number in my Swisscom. While you’re at it, just activate the call filter since then I’ve had peace and quiet.

    LG
